I run them on 16/8 mate. I was running them 18/6
oooo very interesting mr @Sawney_bean - will be very interesting to see. I ran a 24/0 against a 20/4 which was noticeably better.

There is far too much "bro-science' available saying the pants go to sleep...in reality thats nonsense, they dont go into a dormant state when the lights are out - comparing them to animals (sleeping and waking) is random to start with, but hey ho...broscience tends to win as real science takes too long to read :crying: .
my understanding is it is when the food they have made all day through photosynthesis is allowed to be distributed and consumed for the plant - so they must have dark time over the 24hour period to allow them to consume properly! I would love to find the sweet spot of how much dark Vs light over any given 24hr period provides the plant with their requirements, also does that change over the grow period, for example when doing Photos I used to experiment and when things were coming to a close i would go down to 10, then 8 then 6 hours of light only.

will be interesting to see if you notice differences going down to 16/8 - also in this day and age with the price of leccy it could be a winner

You are bang on mate. More light doesn't mean more bud in most circumstances.
Strain size and pot size is a big factor to achieving a desired yield. In my case , for me to achieve a decent yield my plants don't need to produce much individually in a sea of green. It will take a few grows of the same strains to see the potential of lower light cycle.
I use to grow my photoperiod plants 12/12 from seed in a sea of green. This may surprise you but I never grow big plant's. I have always grown loads of smaller plant's.

it certainly works, when paying my way through Uni I ran NFT tables, with Passion Euforia cuttings. A great big momma, take about 50 off her at a time, once rooted straight into 12/12 worked a charm, they never had the chance to grow any leaf or anything, just one bulbous bud per stem - but it hurt my brain growing hundreds of plants because I would get bummed to death in prison :crying:

Hilarious:crying:
I remember watching a grow video VHS lol  it was all about cuttings and doing a sea of green grow and that inspired me into that style. I have never done cuttings tho always made seeds from the start of my growing journey.

I read they get slightly frostier when given time to relax a bit. I think it was on a blog on ILGM but I’m not 100%
9 times out of 10 I’m too stoned when I’m reading this stuff lol

Plant's will produce there protective rezin and cannabinoid levels in the dark period preparing them for the light/ Sun . Plant's will smell different just before the lights come on.
