i am just about to put sprouted auto flower seeds into 3 gallon pots under my 1000 watt hortilux super hps enhanced spectrum bulb (meaning it has both blue and red)..

i will keep the light at least 3ft away for the first couple of weeks to make sure i do not stunt them. i have heard that the red spectrum (2400k) can cause these autoflower seeds to hermie? i can't run a MH in my ballast and really hope this enhanced spectrum bulb will work through out the whole grow.

if this is a problem i will just go buy a bunch of 6500k cfl's to start them, but really don't want to. what do you think? should i be able to start will the 1000w hps enhanced spectrum bulb? thanks!

they are feminized seeds too so this might make them a little more sensitive..

I've had more Herman's from regs than fems.

I was kinda let down with my Hortilux Blue HPS.
They just put a itty bitty blue light bulb in it?
I'd just buy a reg HPS Bulb And save the money.
They sell conversion bulbs for running MH in a HPS ballast.
Do you have a plan to cool the 1000?

Also,
I have never heard of red spectra making a plant Herman?

wow so that's a hortilux hps bulb, I was wondering if they were worth the money, thanks for the info
