low_and_slow, fair enough; and thanks for not ripping into me for disagreeing with you. I definitely agree there are many options on the plate for him; I was just offering my thoughts if I were in a similar position; same as you
Oh btw, it's menage a trois ;-)
That damned google spelling let me down lol!
Stitch, I was merely defending Dinafem from your jab (which was clearly made in jest, I understand your position as a seed breeder.) I just happen to grow Dinafem plants and I honestly would put their seeds and genetics up to the test vs. anything else out there, so if I offer rebuttal to your comments in that regard; it's not me trying to attack you or your knowledge and experience; it's just me saying "hey, I've grown from this particular company, I personally have had AWESOME luck with both their autos and photo strains", and that I just don't want anyone to be mislead that Dinafem has crappy genetics, because that's clearly not the case. I've never grown your seeds before; so as far as I known, world renown or not, you're are just as good as the seeds I find in my random sacks

Of course, if I manage to get my hands on your purple mazar, maybe I'll sing you a different tune
ak47, I literally just harvested my Dinafem Auto White Cheese two weeks ago, if you want some tips or reference notes; check out my 2nd grow journal in the New Growers Forum. I started showing flowers after like Day 22 from seed though; so I would definitely see if that 12/12 switch helps out. stitch's comment about the percentage of the strain that could be "non-auto" seems to make sense; that would also explain why some of the strains in my own tent are only doing what I'm dubbing a "half flower" on the 18/6 light cycle. If they have more photo than auto in them, of course they wouldn't be responding to 18 hours of light (other than vegging like a mofo.)
So is it the ruderalis in the auto's that make them actually auto? How dominant does ruderalis have to be to make the plant switch it's life cycle up like that? I've seen some breeders say their seeds are ruderalis dominant (instead of indica/sativa.) Would there ever be a time you would want a ruderalis dominant plant as opposed to a sativa/indica with a small amount of ruderalis breed in.
