Hello All,

I am growing 3 plants: Northern Lights Auto and Gorilla Glue. I've 2 of one and 1 of the other, but i'm still not entirely sure which is which. I've not grown an auto before, and so I possibly have committed a multitude of rookie mistakes, but that's okay so long as I learn from them.

(i) Training: Contrary to some advice, I have performed topping, fimming, LST, lollipopping and leaf tucking. I even attempted a SCROG net (shown).

(ii) Lighting: I have 4 x 35W CFL (cool-white), 2 x 25W CFL 2700K, 2 x 50W full-spectrum "blurple" COB LEDs and 1 x 100W full-spectrum COB LED. The 3 COB LEDs are mounted to 3 PC CPU heat sinks with fans running on their low RPM setting. These LEDs get very hot (quickly exceeds 100°C without heat sinking, so I opted for active rather than mere passive heating i.e. I have the fans running, forcing air over the LED thereby cooling it). Total power consumption is ~390W. I've run the lights on 18/6 throughout.

(iii) Pots: Currently in 12-litre pots. They were in much smaller pots to begin with, and have been re-potted twice. Substrate is compost & vermiculite.

(iv) Watering/Nutriments: BioBizz Grow from around wk3; a few ml/L, used on every feed. PH tested to be within the range 6.0-6.5. Tap water rested overnight to settle and allow chlorine to evaporate. Average water quantity is approx. 0.5-1.5L per plant every few days once the top inch or so of soil is dry.

(v) Tent:

Right, so I germinated these seeds late March, making them 8-9 weeks old at present (~60 days). I've been scoping them out, eagerly expecting some signs of flowering. They just seem to keep on vegging! They're almost 2' tall now, despite being topped, fimmed, LST'd and tied down to slow their heightening and promote lateral growth. Two days ago, I switched the light from 18/6 to 12/12 to attempt to force them to flip, but I've not seen any signs of that being successful yet.

What should I do, just wait?

Kind Regards,

CC

Think that sounds like a good idea to leave it on 12/12. Would have expected most if not all genetics to be at least starting to flower?
Cheers,

Okay, so now I believe I see fem. pre-flowers? Those things at the stem that has two pistils coming from it. A harbinger of good things to come?

I believe so my friend. Good shout to put it onto 12/12. :pass:

Good luck. Keep posting.

Update:
A week ago, I left my plants home alone to go on a family holiday for a week. Upon returning, I was met by now flowering plants :)
The first image shows how they look when I left them. The bottle with hessian string going from it to the soil of the three pots was an attempt to keep them supplied with water: the string soaks up the water in the bottle and transports it to the plants by was of capillary action. It was successful, but 2 litres for three plants for a week wasn't sufficient to provide for the whole time I was away, and there was no problem with allowing the soil to dry out for a short number of days; cannabis is a hardy plant!
The second image shows how they are a week later. Getting frosty.

Tomorrow I will make and install a SCROG net and perform super-cropping. I flipped 2.5 weeks ago so I feel this is the time to do it, while they're still stretching
