New Grower 1st Grow KVS and Pineapple Express

Well I've finally gotten a chance to grow my own plants, and thanks to AFN I think I should have everything set for a nice 2 plant grow.
The seeds I ordered are Kush Van Stitch by Flash auto flowering and pineapple express by Barney's Farm.
They will be growing in 3.5 or so gallon pots full of Fox Farm Ocean Forrest and using iguana juice veg and bloom for nutes.
The lighting will come from a single 250w mh/hps which I hope will be enough for a 2x4' closet. I also have 3 small fans ordered for wind and ventilation.
ATM I have one seed of each under a single 23w CFL in small peat pots that I poked a bunch of holes and cut the bottom out to reduce chances of stunting. Once they sprout and my good soil arrives they will go straight to their final pots under the 250w lamp.

I really don't have any pics to post since I just popped the seeds in soil yesterday but here's a pic of what I got so far lol.

Hope that kvs pops for you, it's good stuff, what's your germination method? Straight in soil? Paper towel? Welcome to AFN great place and great people. Hope you make good use of all the info here and best wishes for your grow :gthumb:

Welcome to AFN and looking forward to your grow! I just popped a KVS in soil myself, one seed never popped the other one did... Don't give up though I've had seeds that I thought would never pop and have put cup to the side and usually leave it.... And they did two weeks later! Take it easy brother!

I popped them straight in soil so maybe I'll wait a few more days till I germ a new kvs. I think I'm gonna try the paper towel method next time. Thanks for the words of wisdom as I was about to just pop another seed in lol. Monday my 250w hps/mh set should arrive and then the growing shall truly begin

Are your kvs fem or reg? If reg pop another one in same pot... If both come up can grow till sexed and pull the undesirable one out... I would give it seriously two weeks total... Could've settle further in the soil when planted and the soil dried up...
Also I've fucked around with several methods of germing my new way I've been trying (from wonderful advice here on AFN) :thumbs: I soak the seeds till they sink than till they crack (small tail root showing) this can occur rather quickly so keep an eye out about every 8-12hrs after day 1 if it hasn't cracked all ready... Than straight to soil... Have been very successful past few seeds I've germed (my own cross so have plenty to muck around with)
I've also lightly and I mean lightly have prodded around the soil top with a small object such as a paper clip or small twig and I start moving the soil, I have found seeds that germed that were growing downwards... I took a teaspoon and loosed the soiled by lightly pressing on sides of container and than scooped up the upside down seedling trying to not disturb it or its small fragile root, I than put right side up and plant.. Have done this many time with good results ....

Hey there mwsmoker, super germ karma sent your way for the lil KVS. Don't give up on her! Germination can be tricky sometimes. I had great germination results from the KVS, lost 1 out of 8 (due to my own mistakes). On the other hand, I've lost all but one out of a pack of Barneys Pineapple Ex Auto lol. Once you get her going, I have found the KVS to be a pretty forgiving strain, just be careful not to overfeed her and she'll reward you.

Edit: I just smoked a sample nug from my KVS while typing the above sentences and realized now that it took me over a half hour to type them. Yoda's post was not there when I started lol.

Lol thanks guys its a kvs fem seed btw. I like the idea of the sinking seed trick I'll look into doing that next time. I still got 2 more kvs fems if anything bad happens.
