,Hi everyone,
I am completely new to growing and this is eh first time Ive managed to get past young seedlings phase!

I have a tent set up and started this plant (Royal Dwarf) about 5 weeks ago in coco/perlite mix and for the first 3 weeks under CFLs. I have now put it under a 200w LED Full spectrum (im told) and couple of 45w 6500 Cfls hovering above.
I had such trouble keeping my seedlings ok in a large pot I tried starting this in a smaller pot which is obviously far too small.
In the 4th week i started introducing very small amounts of AN nutes.
As you can see from the pics some of the bottom leaves have gone yellow and withered.
I have kept teh PH to 6.
I could do with soem feed back to tell me what im doing wrong and also the pot size problem as I have been told I might kill her if i put her in a bigger pot.
I am a newbie and trying to get at least something for my grow although I can see my plant is very small for its age..
All advice welcome
cheers

Hi Jamtarts :)

Welcome to AFN!

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

I like a nice bit of coco! :)

Looks like you're having a bit of a PH problem or have burned the plants a little with the AN nute addition.
I would lower the PH of the feeds to around 5.7 at your currnet size - coco requires a slightly lower PH than soil (in my experience) .

Don't worry too much about that burn on the bottom .. the top stuff looks healthy.

Does your pot have drainage holes - looks to be about 5 or so litres of coco in there? That should be okay to get you a reasonable sized plant :)

I would back down on your feed a little (half what you gave last time) and Ph the feed down to 5.7 and water until you get a nice 100-200ml of run off. But don't let your pot sit in the run off - put it on little feet or the pot will soak up the badness you got rid of with the run off :)

I wouldnt try a transplant - Autos don't like em much (at all)

Hey - Why not pop up a hello over at introductions for a nice warm welcome from our members.

Happy growing

Blue ^_^

Hey and Welcome!
I see Blue has the situation under control!
This can be a good start to your journal. Keep us informed of your progress and we'll help you keep her healthy!
Peace and happy growing!

Thanks for the advice guys, I will get the PH down tonight and cut back on the nutes. She is small and I will go straight to a bigger pot next time but will keep this one where she is :)
Im wondering when she will come into flower although i think thats at least 2 or 3 weeks away from that, at the moment she smells like my grandads old tomato greenhouse all those years ago!
Do you think i should keep the CFLs ? I dont suppose they can do any harm.
So cool I found a forum dedicated to Autos!
Thanks again guys

I also had a tiny runt that iput under a 35w cfl just for laughs as it was so poorly as a seedling and never grew at all , and i have no idea what it is but I know it was a freebie! I decided to keep it anyways and over the last 2 days its still tiny but exploded with leaves into what looks like 2 main stems?? Anyonehave any idea what it is? Shoudl I just bang her under the LED as well or because she so small keep under cfl?

Hi guys its a bit over a week since last on here, main plant looks healthy but still small only 15cm and I know that small for being 6 weeks in, she is very bushy but surely for a auto she should be flowering by now surely? Still she looks ok and all leaves apart from the original tinged ones look fine but i worry the lights cant get through the thick leaves?
All help welcome guys photo 1.JPGphoto 2.JPGphoto 3.JPG

Please don't call me Shirley [emoji23]

What is your lighting schedule? Some auto strains flower better when there's a couple of hours of darkness in the light schedule. I think some people even go 12/12 for a while to force flowering and once flowering starts they switch back to their normal light schedule.

Shes on 20/4 cycle and is still showing growth so I think I should let her be, I was just worried she was taking a little long as its my first grow and i keep looking at journals and they seem to be alot ahead of me in the time frame but if shes growing and healthy I cant see any sense in messing with her. Shes a little bushy so its hard to get in and investigate around stem etc

Hi Jamtarts :)

I agree - stick to what you're doing, I think she's looking quite nice!

I think the pot size may have influenced how tall your girl will grow, Autos like to sink a deep taproot first before shooting up, I guess this could have been an issue.

As you said, next grow, perhaps go for a taller pot!
If you can see this through to harvest I'll give you a nice little rep slap :)

Also, if you need to "open" her out a bit to expose more to the light you could tie string around your pot (at the top) and tie some braches down (with string to the string - or garden wire) - this could possibly expose more budsites :)

Keep it up! :)

yea I have thought about it but its so thick would be hard to do , still smells of a tomato grow greenhouse when i was a nipper
i liked that smell but............. ahahahaahah
