Posting on Infirmary thread although I have the issue posted on my https://www.autoflower.org/threads/mephisto-genetics-micro-grow.42991/page-45.

The 24 Carat was not started by me. I received her from an AF grower and a very good one to boot. She has really shown no growth. She's in a seedling mix. The container is a standard plastic nursery pot. Will transplant when and if she shows sex. Although not advised it's been done by Mephisto Genetics and really shouldn't be an issue. She is a female. The seedling mix is light with good drainage. The only issue is the bottom of the mix stays very moist. The top 2/3's dry's out normally. I watered her on Monday and just gave her a little water this morning. Talked to the grower about her and we are holding course. The thing is she's not getting better.

Posting to get some ideas, because really this is the place to post.

24 Carat in the rear. That pic was this Monday.

24 Carat today (Thursday). The image is not off color by much, although it does show her lighter. She's not well.

I noticed in your journal there are people saying too much water, and I agree with that. It seems odd though that the plant is already stealing nutrients from the yellowing cotyledons. Just want to verify you're not using an extremely high/low PH or high tds well water?

The medium he uses holds water. I haven't given her that much at all. The pH is @ 6.2-6.5. She hasn't grown at all since I got her. Going on three weeks and she's the size of a one week seedling. I do Micro Grows and do not have the space for nursing sick seedlings. Survival of the fittest is the name of the game. Mitch from Mephisto weighed in on a PM and basically said, "That's gardening..some go and some don't." I may just pull her and chalk it up. I have plenty of Mephisto beans to start another set. The Deep Blue C has been in the soil now for 6 days with no pop. That's not normal for Mephisto Genetics strains.

I know what you're saying about the space, I'd probably start some new ones if I were you. With the age of the 24 carat, even if it recovered it's not going to be a optimum yield (it's a shame you don't have the space to try, for science!), and 6 days on the deep blue, it's probably not going to happen unfortunately. I've personally never worked with any Mephisto's but that does seem pretty unlucky.

Edit: Now you have me looking up these strains. That deep blue looks legit, I may have to try their mix pack one day, but for now I'm going to follow and live through you haha

In fact the Mephisto Genetics strains are great. The guys that do the breeding are tops in autoflower genetics. I don't pre-soak paper towel my beans. Drop, wet and wait. This the 1st time that they didn't pop in under 4 days. The 24 Carat was a gift from an AFN member that is in my area. I'll be going to his home today and check out his grow. Feel bad that his little girl just isn't cutting it. Your right about the yield if she does come around. Cannot waste the space. Trying to talk the other half to upgrade to a bigger grow area. She isn't biting.

:smoker1: ...Mitch said it best! Not all seedlings are going to have the vigor to cut it, that's just life with seeds,... especially fem's! It's your call, to ride her out more and see if she improves, or yank her start fresh :goodluck:

With a Micro Grow's limited space. It's survival of the fittest. Have tossed the 24 Carat and started a Sour Hound in her place.
