Hey guys,i was just wondering if anyone out there had tried the 36 hour dark period before and after harvest and if it improves yield potency etc please share your thoughts,thanks:dance::bong:

I've heard of a 48 hour dark period, but not 36. I am also very interested to know if it had any benefits.

my general understanding is that stress in general towards the end of flowering will force extra trichome/resin production, but doesn't provide the plants enough time to turn hermaphroidite. the plant gets stressed out, and tries to protect itself (trichomes are defensive structures). i don't doubt that these methods provide some small benefit to the final product, but i also believe that you can add a lot more potency to a plant by keeping it happy throughout its life. i've also heard of sticking needles/nails into the stems a few days before harvest, dark periods, not giving it any water, and on and on.

edit: i don't think any of these methods will really increase weight in any very significant way, just potency through resin/trich production.

36 & 48 hours of darkness

I wondered about this.I've heard it was 48 hours but never knew why.A lot of plants can stay alve with 2 days of darkness.(Especially if it's their last 2 days, fighting to stay alive)(stress?) But for me the only logical reason, other than to stress it,is to give it 2 full days of grow period without lights=no photosynthesis+no chlorophyll(spelling?) I don't know if plants can use up chlorophill like nutes, but slowing or stopping it's production may give you a jump on curing.Which again I assume is why we put them in airtight jars,to remove the chlorophyll, and the taste and odors it gives the it.Just a thought out thought that maybe wrong.
