Grow Mediums -

Setup:

2x2 grow tent
100W Spider Farmer SF1000 LED
Australian autopot 300mm module
Nutrifield 70/30 coco perlite mixed in a 4:1 ratio with rocky point activgrow an oz organic soil product (I just had a little leftover from my garden)
3cm flat air stone on the bottom
4l/m air pump set to lowest speed atm
No root control mat
Plastic root control tray insert

strain is DP autodaiquiri lime feeding megacrop it’s at day 10 just received 1/8 teaspoon (probably a gram) in slightly more than a liter of tap water then ph’d down to 6.0(probably+-0.3) may recalibrate the cheap ph meter if I see problems I feel as if the plant is rather pale and has slightly reddish stems at the moment but otherwise looks healthy.

I just thought I’d document this since it’s a single plant and Australian autopots appear to have a different design. I’ve only previously used this autopot once on a photoperiod.

Any other users of this Australian version of the autopots?
never seen them before I'm using the blue UK versions and good luck with your grow im wondering if there's any difference in them

I've actually completely forgotten that I had been documenting this grow online. Unfortunately I was dealing with bad overwatering symptoms once the autopot had been turned on, so I believe that the organic soil product i had used probably greatly reduced the drainage of the overall medium.

I like to have "perfect runs" when I grow autoflowers and throw out any runts or plants that get problems so I pulled it and went back to fabric pots and hand watering and I'm vegging out a new mother in this tent.

I'll attempt this again when I get another autoflower freebie or feel inspired to buy a couple auto beans. I really like the idea of having an auto grow on 24/0 in an autopot that constantly keeps the medium at a pretty consistent range of moisture levels. On the next try i'll add sand and perlite to this organic soil product to see if it works well with cannabis as a standalone soil similar to the supersoils i've been reading about.
Just a friendly note. The auto pots require the root control mat. It stops the roots from growing out of the container, wheather an air pot or any pot with drain holes.
