I have 2 autos that I planted in 5 gallon pots about 2 inches from the top it's seems I've lost soil or water packed it down, but now it's 3 1/2 inces drop soil top top of plant is it safe to add more soil to the top or is it harmful, they are 5 weeks and flowering

Should be able to add soil no probs.if they're already in flowering I'm not sure how much good it would do though. I'd bet money that you're not going to develop new roots into the added soil on top and your end result would be the same.

hey @Chico nicols and :welcome: to afn! :toke: me agree with pondo ;) u could add some, or at least build a good lil mound around the main stalk, to help stability, but no, u wouldn't be harming anything

This is actually on my personal note list for next year. Next year im adding my soil into the pot, waiting a week or two, then topping up again and throwing in the girl. I lost about four inches from the settling and I think I could have gotten much better yield.
