Indoor Advanced Nutrients or Fox Farm

Getting ready to start my second grow under a 240 watt G8 LED and 230 watt Lighthouse Hydro Ion 8 Prototype. I'm getting the soil ready and will probably germinate my seeds next week some time. I was wondering which Nutes to go with on this grow? I have the Advanced nutrients PH perfect set and i also have the fox farm trio. I have never used either of them. Help a brother out lol

AN, never liked fox farm but that's just me.

The pH Perfect will only work if your water has a PPM reading between 100 - 125. If it's low you can add some cal/mag to raise it but if it's too high, you won't be able to use the AN. So if you don't have a PPM tester you'll need to get one. My personal choice is the Hanna Combo. Besides testing PPM it also measures pH and TDS. You'll also need to test the pH of the water. It should be below about 8 for the AN to work correctly.

Thanks muddy. I thought you were supposed to use RO water? Regardless, i just ordered the Hanna combo. Thanks for the advice!

It was designed for use with RO water but will work just fine as long as your source water meets those parameters.

Make sure you also get cleaning, calibration and storage solution. It's very important to keep the glass electrode clean, the unit calibrated and the electrode moist during storage. Also after each use be sure to clean it before storing. I run mine under the faucet and use a soft brush to remove any trace nutrients.
