Hello AFN! Just wanted to post a quick howdy and tell people not to completely hate on the Aerogarden. This is a Northern Lights X Big Bud that is having it's one week birthday today.

Yes, we've all seen aerogardens and sprouting plants but it seems that you have to post pics for any credibility on forums these days:WTF:

This particular plant will be left in the aerogarden for it's life cycle, but only because I will be changing it into a male with CS (or hoping to, my last grow was a resurrection of my soil abilities I retired years ago and was a complete disaster so the CS never had a chance to take). It will be taken down when I pollinate my female I have in another Aerogarden (and hopefully some harvested for storage so I can do some fem pollen chucking later). Here's where the true merit comes into play...

After the plant is well established it is very easy to remove the pod and place in a DWC bucket so you will have a simple plug and play in clay pellets! This is my own personal opinion based on my experience but it seems to be delightfully simple. I see others having problems with rockwool and other methods and I have not had any problems with this method at all.

Many make the mistake of buying Aerogardens brand new which would completely make this a huge mistake and waste of hard earned cash. I bought both my units online on Ebay. There's a little known secret that most people who get these grow one garden and get tired of it so they just hock it for some cash online.

You should really buy some extra bulbs for it as well as a few extra pumps but after this initial investment you will be able to grow for a very long time, since the majority of the time is spent merely sprouting and growing the seedling until is is large enough to thrive in the bucket.

Aerogarden is NOT suitable for full term growth of the plant. I tried this the first time I bought one. The plants will grow into the light, the nute rez will deplete within ONE day when the plant is large and towards the end of it's life. Don't make this mistake!!!

Sorry to go on and on, just wanted to share my experience and give people a very viable option on a simple self contained system that works well for starting plants.
