Hi everyone, thank you for letting me in.mmj with osteo Arthritis and etc here. Some what of a common science man. 62 and working along like most of us.Lime disease x2 and counting.Got it made.I want to throw a bone in to pay a little back for what I gleen here.
Would an air feed into soil grows help or hinder plants? From what I'm reading in the Rdwc stuff, it might. and it's cheap. Maybe a circle line with holes in it, or a spiral,to help with an over watering issueat least.Comments please.
I ain't got much else for now, except a question. I can not find the recent thread about using first press olive oil in a prep, I was there[here?]this week. I want to get off my celebrex if I can, been on it or vioxx since I was 38, now 62.
The thread mentioned wall mart as a source for their oil, if it helps . Bought some today at 25 fluid ounces for $10. .40 cents an ounce.

Hi Wahh

Welcome to AFN! :)

There's a chap here called Kudo who has tried using air stones in soil

Have a look at this video as well! Never tried it myself, but perhaps worth a grow! :)

waah,

we have a very active med section here if that takes your fancy, and much much more besides.
Good luck with your grows and welcome to AFN, eP.

http://blob:https://www.youtube.com/9570942e-ca7e-42e9-8f68-e64120b9381a strange and funny, but I have been thinking along this guys (brain) lines......what about pH, EC control........the right fert mix draining as opposed to a plain EC measurement..........will you lose control somewhat .........?..........and it becomes a bit a happy go lucky situation.........let alone watering 3-4 times a day in the drain pot........obviously evaporation will increase.......and so will soil temperature with compressed air being injected..........??????????????????????????????????????????

Welcome to AFN. Check the hydro section and bounce some ideas off those folks. I do know, the bigger the air pump and a air diffuser(not a air stone) works alot better and grows some monster trees! Best of luck and if you need anything, please ask!:welcome:

Sounds like a logical idea to me. I was reading about people that use air stones to oxygenate their water for about 24hrs prior to watering. Sounds like these ideas share a common ground.

I'm curious to see the results.

I do wonder if this would help most in the situations where a very large pot will be used from seed to harvest. I have noticed that large pots stay wet for a long time with small plants. I usually use around 30 percent perlite in my mixes to help keep the medium aerated, but this air stone idea and oxygenated water sound great.

Only thing I can think of not being great about the idea was when I dabbled in Dwc that if I remember correctly the ph would fluctuate because of the moving ions from the air bubbles... would this have the same effects possibly? My dwc game sucked btw lol. Could have just been grower error.

You can get an air dome for autopots. I was wondering if you could put one in an air pot with the air tube coming out of one of the holes in the side. I think in autopots you cover the dome with cley pebbles then soil on top.

I don't see why it wouldn't work in theory. The only difference between auto pots and the way you describe is the autopots sit in a water resevoir hence the clay pebbles at the bottom.
