Harvest & Curing Alternative methods of curing

Eek- can I ask you a few Q's about the paper rolled? was it trimmed and cut into branches?Where did you leave it? How long did it take and what made it killer smoke?
I read that they do that in Colombia and fancy giving it a go so am keen to hear more about that experience? It'd be nice to get a more detailed breakdown if you have the time? Thanks brother!

Hey Somerset,

How are you my friend? Well I hope.

I got your PM this morning, and I coulda answered then, but I wanted to show pics, and I didn't have time for that then.

So... Basically the method is like this. Take a layer of trimmed buds on stems about 8-10 inches long, loose buds too. I like a tight trim, but obviously, it is your preferrence. Put in the center of a large newspaper, and fold over the sides to form a top. put in a paper bag, you are going to layer it if you have enough to do so. I got about8 layers, an ounce per layer (at the end), and used two paper bags.

When the paper gets damp. change it to new dry newspaper. The first couple of days, you will have to change them two or three times per day. A good idea is to change before bed, and check in the AM.

Keep them in a dry, room temperature, non-wind type sitution. It took about a week, give or take a day. Then into jars, and burping ensued. If it got too damp in a jar. I put it back in a paper for a day.

Notice the difference in colors. As this was the first time doing it, I was refining my process so to speak:coffee2:

And certainly, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks Eek, thats really helpful. Can I ask what kind of aroma your sweated buds have in comparison to the normally dried buds? Do you notice a significant difference?

Well,

Obviously I cannot be 100% certain, but I do think it tended to be a bit more spicy/minty in aroma. I Did notice much in the way of flavor difference.

I believe the growing medium has a lot more to do with flavor than a lot of people

My two Somerset.
