Any water experts here? Just looking for feedback on my water quality for growing in Coco.

It seems to be hard water because I get scale on my faucets etc...

I was wondering if I was to dilute 50/50 with RO water if it would be a good base quality?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Your total hardness at 140 PPM ( a large portion will be calcium carbonate) is not bad. Just use about half or 75 PPM of calcium if using generic fertilizer. If using one designed for coco (what I recommend) you most likely would not need to add any additional calcium.

The sodium at 42 is getting a little high as plants want <50. It is not a concern at this level but you can always dilute it with RO a bit not really necessary.

@Mañ'O'Green Here is something interesting, I checked the PPM of my water with my meter to find it had an overall PPM of 235. RO water shows up at zero so I imagine that my meter is okay. Is the "Total Hardness" of 140 supposed to be overall PPM?

I can only imagine that well water must change over time based on season, water table etc.. Would I be safe to assume that my PPM mix is relatively the same just in a higher concentration?

My water test was performed during my house purchase 5 years ago, maybe I should look into how I can get another one done.

I'd also like to know this, please @Mañ'O'Green .

BTW, I'm also growing in coco . Using my TDS/EC meter my tap water reads 70-80 ppm, and pH is 7.72. This is my water analysis (dureza = hardness). Any inputs?

@elcoloan Yes, you have soft water and you will need to add cal-mag in coco or use nutrients designed for coco.

An EC/PPM meter cannot read RO because there is nothing to read. The 235 PPM includes everything picked up in the pipes from the well to your tap. If you get your water tested it will be a "Picture" of that day because like you suggest it can change for many reasons. I live in a border area between a surface water plant and wells. So sometimes depending on water pressures and demand I get well water or surface water and they are different. The well water comes in at 140 PPM+ and the surface water ~ 80 PPM.
