Curious of anyone has pressed purple rosin before. Didn't know if was possible but internet says it is lol.

If you have what's the process?

I found this so far "In order to squeeze out purple rosin, you need to use freshly harvested purple flowers. After you hang your plant to dry, wait about 36-48 hours before squeezing. At this point in the drying process, the moisture content is still very high in the buds, and the pH levels within the trichomes are still stable because it hasn’t gone through any oxidation."

.

This was some scissor trimmings from a fresh Mandarin Cookies photo plant. Never pressed it, but I dont see why it wouldn't have purple rosin. Also, when checking the tricomes the stalks of the trics were actually purple.

Yes I have pressed Sweet Seeds Dark Devil freshly dried. I got more of a red brown color than purple. The flavor of the dabs was very earthy like fresh forest mulch smells. The buzz was ok mostly a body type.
So it sounds like the article I posted jives with your experience. Since the article says it has to still be pretty fresh to get the color I'm assuming that also means you get more of everything in your rosin which is probably why it had more of a earthy taste to it?

Just thought this thread could use some more pics!
Mephisto gold glue drying for about 36 hours. 185 degrees for 2 minutes in 25um bag. Bag blew apart unfortunately and I haven't tried the rosin yet but it's proof of concept I think.

So I just took it out of freezer to scrape it up. Granted there was plant material cause bag broke but I did notice something. The purple literally seems like it's a watery dye that you mix with the actual rosin.

Don't have rosin to try it on but in future I'm thinking of pressing fresh purple flower better to collect just the rosin and purple dye without plant matter and mix it with clearer rosin to see if the purple will dye it too.
