What's up coconuts I've decided to take Truu's advice on a recirculating drip system. I'm completely new to this and after many hours of research I want to know what yall think..

Basically, I'm going to run 2 plants in 1 gallon smart pots under 180w LED.

the parts on my list are:

  • Hydrofarm timer with up to 8 schedules/24hr
  • 211 GPH submersible pump
  • Ecoplus 2 outlet air pump with 2 airstones
  • 5 gallon reservoir
  • H&G drip clean
  • 1/4" tubing
  • 2 port manifold
  • diy drip ring

For the actual table I'm doing it just like lazylathe's https://www.autoflower.org/f28/easy-drip-waste-set-up-24423.html

My questions:

  1. Is that the right size pump? Since the res is going to be under the drain table it will need to push water vertically for about 2.5 feet. I don't want it to be too powerful and make a mess.
  2. Did I miss anything?

Any tips are well appreciated too :) thanks yall!!

Have you hooked up the pump to the drip to test the output? You can just hook it up in a tote, or a bucket. If its spraying like a porn star web teaser, you may need the pressure reducer that was noted (unused) in the other thread. Even if the pressure is high-i.e. fast flood from the drip, you could adjust the timer to compensate. A cheap and easy test of pressure reducer effect would be to use a pair of vise grips (not closed, but squeezing the drip feed to reduce its flow) to see what effect it has on the drip output. That system is pretty Zen, JR. Dial it in, and that'll put out the Kind! Best to you!

Naw man havent bought the parts yet, just coming up with a gameplan while my grow finishes up. Honestly idk about any of this didn't even know they have pressure reducers lol

Yeah Truu's a genius lol I've been handwatering every day for months now and it's getting old lol especially soaking up all the runoff and putting it down the drain... straight up it's a mission. I'm hooked on the ease of use for this setup so excited for it!!

Think of a pressure reducer as a faucet valve that you only 1/2 close.. It just mellows the stream. I'll be following your progress. I've only done a drip setup in a cloning rig, and I think you're right, it'll make things easier on the schedule, and once dialed in, it'll kill on the growth and vigor. Go for it!

How many drip sites are you going to use? If its 6 or less, the latter should fit the bill. If more, then the first link. Again, once you have it on hand, you should hook things up for a shake down run, and if it needs a reducer, thats an easy add on.

Yeah I'll be using just two drip rings, I'm gonna think on it a little while longer and research some more before I buy it. But thanks for the help bro I'll be doing a test run in a couple of weeks!! First I'm going to build me a nice table :)

Don't skimp on how much head you get.

I can never get enough head!

Seriously, the more head you have, the more you can relax! Woo Hoo!

All kidding aside, get about twice the head you think you will need.

Hahaha cant ever go wrong with too much head... :roflcry:
