Hello!

Yesterday I started my very first cannabis grow. I planted 3 AFD seeds in medium sized pots in my room (temperature is about 23 degrees Celcius) and I put a plastic bag on top of them for greenhouse effect. Obviously there is nothing to see so far so no pictures yet :).

When they sprout I'm going to put them on my windowsill and give them some extra light with a small 20W CFL Desk Light. When the weather is fine I'll put them outside during the day for extra sunlight. After 2-4 weeks they should be strong enough to transplant them to my back yard directly into the ground. I have a south facing yard but there are some trees that block a lot of sunlight :(. I can't cut them down though as they don't belong to me.
I decided to plant some cannnabis only a few weeks ago so I didn't have time to really prepare the soil, but There used to live chickens where I'm going to plant them, so the soil should be really fertile (because of the chicken manure lol). Just to be sure I'm going to mix the soil on the spot with high quality potting soil with added nutrients.

I'm aware that this is a very simple set up, but I'm not going for a massive yield here anyways. I really don't smoke a lot so 10 grams per plant would suffice. More is always better though :D
I planted some vegetables (pumpkins, tomatos, cucumbers, carrots and fresh spices) as well so hopefully I'll have fresh vegetables and some fine cannabis in 3 months time :D. Really excited about this and I hope I can count on you guys for some advice!

Start: 05/14/2013
Strain: Autofrisian Dew (by Dutch Passion)
Medium: Soil (mix of potting soil and the soil in my garden)
Location: Belgium
Latitude: 51.0 N
Nutrients: Haven't bought any so far. Maybe I'll buy some tomato fertilizer (NPK 5-6-7 with spore elements) when they go into flowering stage.

Best of luck with the Autofrisian Dew... Check out the Outdoor growing section for lots of great info...

Yea gd luck wi ur grow m8,i think ul do a lot better than 10g per plant for sure,,:smokebuds:

Frisian dew are awesome outside i have no doubt the auto version will perform in the same way good luck with your outdoor growing adventure

Thank you, all of you :)
I heard a lot of good things about Frisian Dew: it's a tough and high-yielding plant that's very suited for beginners like me. Only bad thing I heard about it is that the smell/taste of the green pheno isn't that great. I guess I'll know more in a few months time. I'll make a detailled smoke report for sure ;-). I haven't heard of anyone growing these babies in ground so far... It's a new strain which makes all of this even more exciting to me :jump:

good luck Super. This is the first year of AutoFrisian Dew, try to give them as much direct sunlight as you can. And good luck! I look forward to seeing how you get on

Thanks! Luckily enough sunniest spot in my garden is also the most discrete. The spot gets lots of direct sunlight during the mid-day but less in the mornings and evenings.

Day 4 and two out of three seeds have already germinated (I can see their little stems popping out of the soil). Hopefully the third seed will follow soon.

Day Six

A little update: I wasn't home for three days. Today I returned and I was happy to see 3 little MJ seedlings :toke:.

They were on my windows ill facing west all the time and I left the heat on at 20 degrees Celcius. It was cloudy all the time so they didn't have a lot of light and they look a little stretched now :( . I put 2 20W CFl's above them for some extra light (every bit helps I guess).

When the weather improves I'll put them on my balcony during the day for extra light.

Do you guys think I should cover the lower part of the stems with an extra layer of soil? Because of the stretching I mean..

PS: curtain is closed on the photo's for privacy. Normally they are opened of course :D

Peace
