Hey, was trying to find a good comparative write up on the two as I'm trying to prepare for my 2nd grow when this first one finishes. I know I'm gong to do some form of autowater but still trying yo learn more of the differences/advantages to watering via autopot vs halo rings. The grow medium woulld be a coco/perlite combination. I wasn't able to find but a few discussions about halo's in this subforum but I might be looking in the wrong place? if I am please direct me. If not, and there just isn't anything yet comparing them I'd appreciate if anyone could lay out the differences. Trying to figure out what parts I need to go get going forward.

Ok drip irrigation vs autopot. Mentally I don't really see a difference as they both accomplish the same thing. If you are running drip to waste (what I recommend) The nutrients will remain balanced and constant and not so for the autopot. If the res on the autopot is getting frequent changes then I think they would be equal as far as the plant is concerned.

Thanks. Sorry I'm still not aware of all the nomenclature! Sounds like drip irrigation is what I want to do then!
only if you are ok depending on electricity. The key with autopots is first that they operate with no electricity, and second, the amount of nutes supplied automatically adjusts to what the plant uses. IMHO, autopots are hard to beat.

good luck with your decision.:pighug:
