Hey folks - hopefully y'all can help me out here.

Problem:
Some top leaves taco-ing, stems turning purple, weird fading on some of the upper leaves (pretty sure this is a light-burn thing), some brown spotting on a few leaves

Medium/grow method: 100% coco in an Autopot.

Feed: and supplements used: 3g MegaCrop - 40ml Cali-Magic - 20ml Liquid Kool Bloom per gallon at 5.7 ph.

water source: Tap water.

Strain/age: Alien vs. Triangle - Day 55

Light used: 2 Autocobs.

Climate: Unsure at the moment. Usually mid-70's, 50-65% humidity.

Additional info:

My plant is 55 days old and a few inches short of 4'. She's been mainlined and heavily pruned, and still grown like a beast. No problems at all til about a week ago. The first thing I noticed was some taco-ing and lightening of some of the very top leaves. My lights are *super* close - 12" and about 9" but there's nothing I can do about it - both lights are as high as they can go.

Other than that more and more leaves have been developing purple stems and a few have started to show brow spots. I'm thinking light burn and Phosphorous deficiency? None of the lower leaves are affected that I can see, and the leaves on top that aren't in the direct light are much greener and the buds look like they're putting on size more than the ones that are right near the lights. Help!

I see calcium deficiency & some light bleaching of the leaves..Any way you could say attach something to the base or middle of each branch, pull them down some and anchor them to the pot? It would be some work with the size of that and take some time but much better than stressing out the plant.

There's nowhere for the bent branches to go - the canopy is literally wall to wall already so I can't go any wider. Also, I mainlined the plant and I already had to tie it to the tent in order to keep it from tipping over. I unfortunately can't think of a single way to gain any distance between the lights and the canopy.

I mean during stretch a nice super cropping to the dominant branches so they fell flat on the canopy would of helped..You COULD still do it,I've seen it done this far in flower will excellent results and fatter buds..I mean other than that, attach something to all the dominant branches at the tops that are being bleached and gently pull them over the course of a few days a little at a time not to snap the branches until they are almost completely horizontal just to give you some space.

I did! I mainlined this plant, supercropped it, pruned the shit of it. AvT is easily the strongest strain I've ever grown in terms of plant vigor. I did just supercrop a couple of the taller colas though, hopefully it helps a bit, Thanks for the suggestion!

:pass: Papa E', Green Gob's :toke:...... I think GG has called it, mainly the lights being too close and hammering the fuck outta the machinery! I realize you're stuck though, so do what you can,... this can cause some transpiration issues as well, which may jam up the flow of nutes to the tops areas, inducing defc.'s even if the nutes are there in the medium,... I'd look into a micronute supplement like Earth Juice Microblast, as that lower leaf is looking Zn defc., but it's early symptoms so not 100% on that...
A hack came to mind for the tops, if supercropping isn't happening: window screen material will cut the light down if you can drape or float it above the most exposed tops, but not cut exposure down for lower stuff,... I use this for young plants outside when hardening them to OD life,....

I loves you, @Waira :) And I thought the taco'd leaves were something to do with light stress/transpiration issues too, because it's definitely not hot enough to heat stress the plant in my grow area. I do have a small desk fan blowing over the canopy - would turning it off help the transpiration issue at all? I don't think I can afford anymore additives - how boned am I without the product you mentioned, and are there alternatives if it's super necessary?

I'll look into the window screening trick if the little bit of supercropping I did earlier at @Green Goblin 's suggestion isn't enough. This AvT is *definitely* gonna go longer than the 75 days on the label, lol. Gonna make a hell of a lot of bud though by the looks of it! :smoking:

:eek1: --:crying:...... you're right mate, any bad combo of high T, low RH%, overly strong light (think proximity, not all over), overly strong air movement can kick off transpiration issues,... much of this is well explained by looking into VPD, vapor pressure deficit... there's a good article and brief video link in the Reference section on this, so check it out! So, if there's decent air flow in there already without the fan across the tops, try halting that, it's certainly forcing more rapid evaporation which ain't always good as you'll see in VPD,... That whole flow of nutes/water from roots up depends a great deal on the transpiration through the leaves, and if that gets disrupted, you can get an assortment of problems,...
If the supercropping went OK, and you have some better distance now, the screen material trick may not be needed,.. could be the micro' defc. was triggered by the bad VPD, so it that's corrected, and the plant is getting well fed, it'll likely clear as well,.... If you do need to make a small screen let me know,... I've not had to deal with this indoors, so I'll need pics of the top canopy to see what kind of rigging will work,...

Hey @Waira , and anyone else who's still here. Here's the latest. Took some of @Green Goblin and @Waira 's advice and supercropped the tallest branches, upped my calmag a bit and bumped my ph from 5.7 to 5.8. She's been on that feed since the 20th and I'm still having a few issues. Noticing a few more bright purple stems, and one more leaf started showing the same brown spotting as the larger leaf I posted pics of in my original post. Other than that, most of the leaves that are directly under the lights are still splotchy and lighter colored, while the ones that are on the periphery are much greener and better looking. I don't know what to do about that other than the window screen trick @Waira mentioned but it'd have to cover the whole canopy and I'm not sure that's a good idea.

Here's the new leaf spotting:

Ideas? @Waira , I just read your new post - any thoughts? I haven't stopped the fan, but I will when I go up to smoke again in a little bit. I'm still seeing a bit of taco-ing too, but hopefully stopping the fan helps.
