Thought I'd try one more shot at Autos outside.
For soil I did some more research and made my own with mostly local stuff.
Base recipe by volume ( I made 2 cubic feet)
1/3 aeration (lava rock, hydro rock)
1/3 nutrient material (1/3 local green compost, 2/3 quality earth worm castings)
1/3 "fluff" (2/3 peat moss, 1/3 rinsed redwood mulch)
Added 1 cup each per cubic foot of Neem meal, Kelp meal, and Crab meal.
Added 3/4 cup each per cubic foot of Dolomite Lime, and Crushed Oyster Shells.
Added 1/4 cup fish meal per cubic foot to offset any slow release Nitrogen from the redwood mulch.
Watered with some Great White Mycorrhizae and let it cook for a few weeks. Light and fluffy mix with lots of aeration.
I dropped my last 3 AvT seeds (over a year old, kept in refrigerator) in rapid rooters and 5" square pots.
All sprouted and got 10 days X 24 hours of T5 LED before being transplanted outside.
Each and every one was root bound @ 10 days.
Containers are Qty 2 @Rain Science 5 gallon white fabric pots and Qty1 plastic "aerated" pot (lots of holes throughout).
Weather has been perfect this year, only a few fogged in days, temps mostly in the 80's and 60's at night.
Growth has been awesome, LST only no cutting or topping this time.
Treated with nematodes about 2 weeks in, and lady bugs 2 weeks after that. So far no gnats or other pests, plan on treating with nematodes again next week. Plants seemed to really like the nematode watering for some reason?
Have 2 Indica leaning phenos, and one Sativa. All are flowering well @ week #6. Sativa is much larger, bigger fan leaves, and is a week or two behind the others in flowering. She will be a monster!
These pics are day #38 from sprout.
