Well going to start a grow soon. Can someone let me know what would be the bare minimum to have 1 successfull grow? going to be chosing an Auto that wouldnt be too hard to grow. thanks

Jack, you already have a thread open where you are getting lots of advice from some of our most helpful mods like muddy. Please do not keep opening new threads expecting to get different information or for someone to make it easier for you. People in the other thread have shared with you the basics to get started, refer back to that.

I would also suggest you do some reading. Check out the sticky threads at the top of the forums as well as the Reference Links forum and the Tips and Tricks Knowledge Base.

One of the things about this site is you have to put in your own work and research. We will help you along the way and answer questions, but you have to put the reading time in yourself. Muddy has given you a great tip here. Many people have spent a lot of their personal time compiling threads for people getting started, you'll have better luck there than starting a thread full of basics questions.

:peace:

Best way to learn is get hands on experience. If you mess up learn from it but you aint going to grow squat by reading alone

I'm afraid that's jumping the gun ninja. Jack here needs to do a lot of reading and research before starting so things go smoother the first time. This isn't one of those things where you throw out the instruction manual and start without a base of knowledge. :2cents:

well iv done quite bit of reading on here and people keep coming out with diffrent things. like iv seen 20 diffrent types of things to put in ur soil.... sooo many nutrients etc. wud just like a Bare minimum list to start off wid on my first grow then advance from there. Thanks anyways.

Plant magic soil is what I used for my first grow and it was simple no need to ph the water plants look a little pale in colour give plant magic grow or bloom remember less is best so do slightly less than recromended n youll learn as you go.

I understand you gotta read but tbh I think he might be abit like me n get more confused by reading. Its simple imo too grow and any questions as your growing the forums a great place. Once you start you wont stop. I dont know about the auto version but big bud x northern light is meant to be pretty fool proof for newbies

ninja1 thanks man :). yeah i do get confused cos diffrent people got so many diffrent ways of doing it. I dont want to do anything professional or nothing i just wantted a bare minimum list for ONE plant. dont want to invest so much money for one plant. as soon as i have got a few successfull little grows i can start investing into it properly if that makes sense

is big bud x NL an autoflower? i was thinking i would just get a good soil mix right make it up myself with diffrent stuff in the soil added in like perlite , vercumlite and worm castings and stuff. Start off with just water which will be left out for few days. then just feed it water then gradually start using 1/4 strength nutrients and slowly increase it. One plant will be under one 200 W light. Also this wont attract pests into my house will it? Thats the last i wud want... got phobia with insects and shit. What i just listed would that be enough?

There is an auto version of that strain yes I dont know if the auto strains the same. Id personally say forget doing that n go with fast bud by sweet seeds if only doing one so you got a smoke quite quick. You could mix your own soil but thats to much effort for a man like myself lol so I just brought plant magic soil its cheap and served me well. Every plant/grow is different and opinions are like arseholes everyones got on. Crack on do a diary and any problems im sure everyone will be glad to help.

Hey Jack. Welcome to AFN. :smokebuds: I will second what Mr. Piggy has said.

If you're looking for someone to tell you "Do it this way", I don't think you're going to find that here. The reason for that is not because nobody here is helpful; it's because there is not one set way to have a successful grow. There are tons of different ways to do that, so of course you're going to see lots of different methods on here. It's up to you to choose the methods and tools that you have seen that best fit your particular situation. Nobody else can decide that for you. There is way more than enough information on this site for you to look through and get some ideas. As the most generous Mr. Pig said, we would be happy to answer any specific questions that you have. But if you're looking for someone to lay out your grow for you, I'm afraid you will be disappointed. You have to put in that work - it will only help you in the end.

Take the time to thoroughly read through grow journals where the setup sounds appealing and like it might work in your situation, and then commit to it.
