Im looking to start my grow soon but still not sure on which DWC system to invest in, i need something thats not gona need me to make more adjustments to it...
It's cheap and seems to have all the bits you need to get going. If you decide that hydros not for you, you could bin it afterwards and not feel too guilty!
I "Think" the hydro experts will probably advise a better pump.
From memory - the more bubbles the better.
But i'd wait for DWCoacha or Pal or one of the other experienced and regular hydro growers to chime in. At only £25 for the whole setup, getting a better pump wouldnt be the end of the world though and you'll get some awesome recommendations for people who have already tried and tested (so that'll save you loads!)
Those 5gallon buckets with the net pot lids are what most "starters" start out with. I'm currently running 7 of them in my room except I built my own without the sight tube on the side. I WILL be putting a sight tube on my after these are done for convenience. The only thing im concerned about is the light getting into the water and causing algae. In my 7 buckets I have about 175$USD. I also got a single air pump that was big enough to run all the buckets.
What i did when i stat out was get a plastic tote(rubbermaid), some airstones, and a pump, all from walmart, and made my own. I used it for my clone experiment and it worked well. Good luck with your adventures
Most pumps are reliable. Most people upgrade just to get even more air into the water. A kit like blue showed you is great to start with. Use it one grow and learn, then upgrade as needed! DWC is a great way to go!
I like venturi style as you have no air stone, no air pump. virtually silent if its a small set up.
DWC cooling would be required if temps are an issue due to the pump heating the water.
I also have no experience with this method so would love others to chime in
