best led lights for my growing space?

That's why I suggested the 1000w LED. The ppf at the corners is over 1200 at 18", possibly even 800 at the corners. You need 750 watts miminum to cover a 5x5 but 1000 watts puts you at 40w per square foot.

Your tent will have reflective walls and that isn't factored into the chart I linked earlier.

You could set your light at 1000 watts and 60" from the floor. It would be adequate distance that seedlings and more sensitive plants wouldn't be affected. Since you're planning to grow sativas they prefer intense lighting.

I suggested Meiju because other people on this site have bought from them and use their lights.

Actually those with a few of the Autocobs you can hang them so their footprint overlaps and you can cover a larger area. As opposed to trying to use one or two panels to cover a 5ft spread in both directions.

When I got my cobs in.. I was still in the middle of flower, so I dialed back my light and added two cobs to the tent on either side for better coverage and to add some different wavelengths in there. So that is something the OP could do.. A combo of both which works well.

Exactly - This would be perfectly adequate because the spread is good without a major drop in strength on the edges so in essence you could just leave the light at 5 feet and let the plants grow into them. Again just preference and what you want to accomplish.

Just having trouble picking a light right now. I’m kinda sketched out of the Chinese alibaba site after my friend told me he bought stuff unrelated to growing that’s been fake from it. Also need something for my 5’ by 5’

Hard to argue the success @Farming4meds is having - I mean look at the garden - different plants, each getting their own love ......

I understand the old one light option but today these aren’t the same plants that were grown in the Clinton Days ......

Me like you are thinking went out and purchased a powerful light - I cooked half of my first attempt - light was too much for most of the gals, yea a couple were “ok” but most didn’t do well .....

With the COBS you’ll be able to customize each individual plant and you can buy 4 now and 2 later or however you wanna do it and you won’t be stuck if you don’t like, just don’t buy anymore - most have return policy anyways - so what’s not to like?

And whatever don’t deal with someone that can’t service you, stick well know companies like the Cob Shop or other sponsors here on AFN like this one https://www.autoflower.org/threads/the-green-sunshine-company-electric-sky-es300.64632/ .... this is a high end light and not a cob but a nice light .....

Individual cobs are nice but the spread falls so poorly on the edges plus trying to maximize the footprint requires a expensive amount of them.

Everyone makes knock offs if the quantum boards but no one gets the light spread that a strip style light can accomplish.

I personally don't want to have to constantly adjust lights. The single light suggestions aren't bad but diode quality, footprint, and the amount of light source make a difference.

He's not wrong. Again it has to do with how you grow. I sometimes take two lights out and throw them in another tent to start something off and then i can bring the plants back into the tent with the cobs. The thing is when you have 6 of whatever it is for your space. They operate very much like a singular light in that you basically leave them up fairly high.. I just have the ability to make micro adjustments to the lights in order to utilize my space more efficiently based on how I grow. Having said that, I still run a single light setup when doing a sog or similar type grows. Look at the sweet goodness @Damien50 grows, it is not his first rodeo so you really can't go wrong. I myself will be looking into his recommendations for when I need a single board because the facts are there.

I second this. Anything HLG is a great balance of high quality light as well as not overly expensive. Outside the cheap range but not the thousands either. Rapid LED and Sectrumking also make some fantastic LED while not totally destroying the bank account.

Do you think the one I linked is a good buy for my space? People have told it isn't bc it doesn't have enough wattage. However, it was recommended to me by a good friend of mine.

Just nervous about the Chinese products since I've not only been warned by people online about them, but also my friend telling me he got fake stuff from his buys off that site.
