First grow and I can't trouble shoot this problem myself. Started on lower leaves and is slowly working it's way up the plant. Leaves dry, get brittle, brown and then crumble. Anyone have an idea?

Hey @bluntz ...To enable a quick response to your plant Problems we need You to provide some Basic Information.

Please fill in this form: (copy and paste part is below, this first one tell what specifically to include)

-Problem: (brief description)
-Medium/grow method: soil; soilless-- coco, or peat based like Promix, etc. (please provide the actual product name); DWC, NFT, etc.
-Feed and supplements used: include brand, dosage/strength, frequency of feeding and watering (alone); method-- by hand, drippers, rercirc' or drain-to-waste,... N-P-K #'s too if you can!
-Water source: RO/DI; tap- dechlorinated-?..... EC or TDS reading; pH (don't bother with this on RO/DI, do bother with TDS/EC though to confirm it's working well enough)
-Strain and age
-Climate: night and day ambient T and RH%; res' temperatures; any extremes in T/RH% exposure
- Light used: HID, LED, COB, combo of,... wattage; light cycle hours (20/4, 18/6 , etc.); distance to tops....
-Additional info: How long have the plants been affected?...How fast did symptoms appear?... Anything else you think might be relevant..

--Pictures including WHOLE PLANT PICS, and troubled leaves.. use normal light or flash as other light sources ruin color rendering, critical for diagnostics!

@High'n'Dry Thanks!

Problem: Leaves appear to be drying, turning brown and becoming very brittle. They fall apart when touched. Started low on the plant, at first true leaves and is slowly moving up the plant.

Medium/Grow Method: 50/50 mix of FFOF and Happy Frog in five gallon fabric pots.

Feed: Canna Terra products fed once a week utilizing the calculator on the Canna website. Light schedule dosing cut in half.

Water source: Well water, no report has ever been obtained. Doesn't seem hard.

Strain: Mephisto Northern Cheese Haze. 33 days since sprout.

Light: 1000 Watt KingLED run 24/0

Climate: Indoor tent grow. Current temp is around 73F with humidity at 60%.

:toke: -- Just those lowest leaves so far? ... get us some whole plant pics please,... this can help with diagnosis-
I've seen this several times, and I'm still not sure about it.... this wasting pattern, it's not a good fit for any defc. or toxicity that I can see, P defc. is the closest.....and some times it looks almost like an infection, but that would be only on those lowest leaves, often in contact with the soil surface,.... plus this is killing and drying so fast there's still green in there!
A possible new guru has joined, so I'll wave these pics at him, maybe he'll know more,...
meantime, some caution about off-pH should be mentioned,.. FF soils have been dubious for quality lately, many folks using their soil show up here with pH problems... So, it'd be wise to check this out, but you'll need the right tools; testing run-off is not an accurate measure of in-pot pH, and seldom do people do it properly anyway.. as a last resort it can at least show if things are way off, confirming that the pH needs correcting... Look into the Accurate 8 soil pH probe, mine has been a jem for years now! So much hassle can be head off if you're on top of what your input pH's are, and watching that in-pot pH...

I will grab a picture of the entire plant tonight.

It almost as if you are getting some of this well water on your leaves and frying those spots with the lights. However it could be viral infection or a soil pathogen, if you water too much you create and anaerobic environment that allows the bad guy microbes to overrun the good guy microbes, which in turn causes illness in the plant. For the soil combination you are using I recommend a product called Armory, which has a benefical bacillus blend of microbes that helps keep the bad guy bacteria in check and promotes a healthy stronger plant, this product I will water into the soil maybe 7 times in the plants lifecycle, and in my grows, which some are very large, we have seen these mysterious illnesses and health issues almost come to a screechin' halt. I believe in this product. I will also add, I use the same soils you do but I add Coco Loco, so my mix is 1 part HF,1 part OF, and 1 part Coco Loco, and I rarely feed synthetic nutes, rather I build a microbe population to take care of my plants needs. (though I do have nutes on hand for deficiencies that might pop up in flower) I believe in feeding the soil, and not the plant, IMO if one wants to feed the plant on some sched, you are probably better off in pure Coco or a light soil mix.

thanks bud, the rest of the leaves look good,.. stand by, I'm going to try this Dutch Passion Master who has joined up here,...:eyebrows:
...nute splash won't do this, not with these symptoms,... even if it's too conc., the burning will be tell tale,... otherwise, foliar feeding is just fine,... light lensing and burn is super rare, and never on lowers in any case,....

...can you show me the higher up leaves with symptoms? May not be the same thing....
...the consult said with lowest leaves near the soil, sometimes they can pick up an infection if the wrong microbes get in through the stomata....
