Photoperiod Cloning

And is a normal energy saving house bulb ok to use

Thanks m8, do they have 2 be 4/5 nodes down and can they not b shorter if not then that's where Iv been going wrong. Thanks I'll try that next time round

They can be shorter as long as they have a good portion that can get light while leaving an inch or so covered by soil/plug. A couple cfls will do the trick but I wouldn't use incandescent bulbs. How long have you been waiting for roots before deciding to try again?

Iv managed to get 4 out of about 20 give o take a couple. I'll be trying again as soon as these 4 are ready for

Iv got some autos going at the mo and the leafs have turned dark green does that mean anything

I do it like this and my clones are happy.

It is the first time with photos. I was convinced I had a White Widow auto - However, I may have been stoned while ordering. When St. Therése was 100 days and no flowers, I checked my order...a regular White Widow...

Clones.

Hey bud! :drunks:
Try cutting at a 45 degree angle about a quarter inch below the 4th or 5th node down from a growth tip. Immediately put your cuttings in water and then head to where you will put them in plugs or soil. When ready, take all the growth off the lower 1 inch of stem down to the 45 degree cut, dip this section in cloning gel or powder and insert it into the plug or soil. Make sure there is good contact between the plug/soil and stem, if you want to scrape off a bit of the outside layer of stem near the cut, there will be more areas for roots to grow from. You can now put them in a humidity dome and make sure it's very moist inside. I leave them without any direct light for the first 24 hours to let them recover from being cut, then they will go under weak fluorescent lights until they grow roots. Make sure you don't give them 24 hour light or they will take longer to root, 18/6 or 20/4 is good.
That's it in a nutshell, I wish you luck, let me know if you need any further help!

Howdy @surffreak,
I noted with interest your emphasising not to give clones 24 hours of light as it will slow rooting.
if you had any source material to back this up I would be grateful if you could point me in that direction.
thanks man.

I've had great luck just sticking my cuttings in dirt and keeping them good and wet, no root tone, no chemicals... Just soil, water and lots and lots of sunshine.
I always cut about 1/4 inch below a node, and I make sure it's at least 4 inches below the surface. So far out of about 15-20 clones that I've done I've only had one fail to grow.
