Hello,

I am near done with my first Coco Grow and it is a great success... But today i find a problem and don't now why.

I reducing the EC on Day 70 to 1.3 bevore I never give Higher EC than 1.8.

My Tap Water has a EC 0.4 I adding A&B Nutes in to it and PK 13/14 so total EC now 1.3. I watering first 2 Liter and find out the EC run off was 2.0 so litte panic I give another 1 Liter and after that the EC was 2.5 that's makes me Crazy right now! Why is the run off EC higher than I Watering with? I water 2 times a Day but not more than 0.5 Liter run off. Maybe is the EC 1.3 to high for 2 times watering ore is the run off not enough? I can't put to much Water in I throw nutrients away don't want that!! Plant looks OK.

hey buddy, I grow coco so I think I can help you out... yes you could be giving them to much

Coco can be treated like soil or like hydro, you're watering twice a day so your treating it more like hydro. When feeding at this kind of rate it's recommended to cut your EC level right back due to possible salt build up, which I think you are getting. To stop the build up you need a good amount of run off on the last watering... don't panic nothing to worry about and easily fixed

Take this as a sign your over feeding them a little... for a start flush your pots with at least the same amount of plain water to the pot size. For more of an aggressive flush double the amount of water to the pot size. This should bring your EC levels right back down to more of a reasonable level. Then on your next feed cut your EC back by a third to a half and see how that go's, maybe have little more run off on that last water... the plants will only take what they need and if you have a large build up it means they are leaving a lot food behind, they don't want it, plus not enough water is running through the pots to wash that excess build up out... Its about finding that balance, little is more with coco...

Do you think it has a negative Effekt in Bud production now on Day 70?

It makes sense with that much water but I don't have so a big tray for that much water and my plant is so big I can't bring it out of the Tent :D

The runoff EC now is 1.9 after a Mild solution with 1.0 EC. I can't water so much than I belive it is better to give not more than 1.0 EC and water with less runoff? If the EC goes up to 1.5 that's in the correct range what you think from that plan? All the Grow i never water more than with 0.5 Liter runoff and no toxic but I think I give to much in the later flower cycle.

your on day 70 you should be just feeding water by now for the end of grow flush / leech... when you have a build up and your situation says you can't flush the pots, I would just feed them water until your are happy with your run off EC then start feeding them at a lower rate. There is no point in keeping on feeding them if there is plenty of food in the coco, they will take what they need. By adding more you are just adding to the problem. And again your coming to the end of the grow so I would think you should be just feeding water... what strain are growing?

that look all good to me... she is coming to the end of her life now so will naturally start to turn yellow and she cannibalises her self plus most of your white hairs are turning brown... have you looked at the tricombes to see if they are milky white or clear?

Normal practice for coco would be stop feeding 2-3 weeks before the chop, sometimes that can be a little difficult to tell with auto's. You just have hope the breeder is close with there finishing time on the packet, but don't take that as gospel train your self over the next few grows to start to spot where the plants are coming into there last weeks. You will soon spot the signs.

its difficult to tell from here and this could only be genetics but do you think that bud has got to its right size... I only say this as you have mentioned you have been feeding twice a day with a high EC. What can happen is that the salt build up in the coco can lock out your plant and make it grow super slow but keep to its allotted time line. Meaning the buds never fully develop to size they can get. This has happen to me twice now. And both times I didn't notice, not even nute burn on the tips of the leaves... in this situation I would do another run of the same, work the kinks out and see if I was to blame.

That bud up back looks mighty fine sir, is that the same strain ?

Hey, yes the same Strain! Today the runoff was in the right Range from 2.4 yesterday to 1.3 EC today. I don't think I give to much nutes maybe you right but the runoff was correct hm... I don't give more than 1.3 EC now and Flush 10 Days bevore Harvest.

The Trichs most looks Clear but hard to see under 60x better 120x I bought a new one next time.. I wish the Buds are more Bigger but I wait for the Final Push.

Here you can see litte bit more
