I have a closet grow and it is getting cold at night with the light off. I raise it on colder days with the incandescent bulb in the ceiling fixture. Keeps it warm. I use 20/4 lighting so if I leave that incandescent bulb in there on as light, Wich isn't much honestly, will it disturb the plants' "sleep period"? I'm sure it would mess with a photos flower, I'm not concerned with that, just with the co2 transfer they do while "sleeping". Thanks.

@YescaLove :welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome:Some growers grow 24/0 so in that regard no it won't mess with it too much. I believe in giving a plant a night time at least 4 hours and I run autos 18/6. Can you shift the dark hours to the warmest part of the day inside the house and turn the light off?

We all have to make adjustments for the environment from time to time - until we cannot.

I think you are fine, if growing Autos anyways, but you could always change the bulb to one of those reptile heating bulbs with no light.

Great idea there, both really, I have a reptile heater my stepdaughter keeps snakes. I was afraid to hang it in the closet lamp but I can just use a clamp on fixture. Should almost be out of the cold weather. Thanks a bunch!

They don't need to sleep, just run them 24 hours.
the only reason to run anything less than 24 hours, is if it's getting too hot or if the savings on power is worth the slight loss of production by keeping the lights off for a few hours.
