dehumidifier help completly clueless

I need help with picking a dehumidifier. it is very humid year round where I live and I don't want the bud rot that ive heard about. the floor space is 2 1/2 feet by 5 feet and the height inside the box is 4 feet tall. I want the most maintenance free low heat and one that I can just set at a humidity level and just take the water out. and one that doesn't take up to much room but if I have to get one of the bigger ones that's fine too

Hey buddy, Guess you could get a 'plug in humidistat controller' in the grow room and connect it to most kinds of dehumidifyers just a question of size. The maintenance part will be how often you have to empty it i guess... So the bigger the dehumidifyer the less 'maintenance' you will have... How humid is your grow area when it's up and running?:Sharing One:

I haven't gotten it up and going yet im about to order the t5 light and fan and filter and everything else. I stay in florida and the humidity is crazy down here. I don't know exactly what the humidity is until I get my thermostat / humidity gauge ordered

Only room dehumidifiers. I'm sure someone will know. Good luck!

help buying a dehumidifier for small grow boxes

does anyone have experience with humidifiers for small grow boxes the humidity is like 70 percent here. ive seen on ebay a 50 dollar one called a eva-dry does anyone have experience with theses little things or should I just get a big one and put it in my house

This is the second time I've had to merge threads on this same topic. One thread per topic only.

I bought a kinda big one for my 4x4 room. Allows me to hook a hose up to let it drain into a 5gal bucket if I want. And a digital display, but costed around 200$ or so. You kinda need to think what your spending limit is. Remember most have a compressor and will produce heat as well.

Doesn't it seem logically that you'd have to get a humidifier big enough to control the whole room (the room surrounding the grow space)? The air intaken(sp?) via your ventilation will be drawing humid air. The $50 humidifier stationed in your box will be under siege trying to beat the rh down. Don't you think? Unless it's 50% rh in your room and 80% in the box I don't see the point.
