I bought a Dinafem tin of 10 mixed seeds and here is a picture of the healthy one after planting 4 of the seeds. The seeds are a random mix from the Dinafem range so I do not know what the plant is. It was on 4th of the month and now it is only about an inch high. This is my first indoor grow and I want to test first whether I have problemos before planting more, next time I might get a single variety but there were so many I was lost for choice ant thought bother that cat and just grab a mix and now I have the problem of not knowing when to FIM and Flower and all that and thought maybe best leave it to nature as a beginner?

Unknown Dinafem Strain now 15 days old

As you can see the initial growth was very slow and worrying then it made me happy overnight and sped up again then stopped then started, she is on 24 hour light at the moment, I plan to gradually increase the sleep time later if she does not die on me, I am not looking so much for a smokable plant as a beautiful plant, the other 3 plants are tall and stingy without much leafage and like many plants I grew from common seed that did not interest me - this seedling if it survives looks nice and short and bushy to me, it might be because paying so much for seeds means that you try hard to care for them, the medium is Peat Perlite Vermiculite Worm Castings Guano the bottom layer is coco hair and under that a tray to drain run off into a reservoir that can be emptied, if there is anything food that I should add let me know. I am not interested in advanced and expert strains but would like to know what is the EASIEST strain to grow, I can move my plant from sunlight outdoors and into the lamps at night no problem as they are legal as ornamental plants and that is why I want short easy ones that dont look like tall ugly weeds - I got a lot of juicy tips from this site and share the good karma with pics of my little unknown star who may be a bit small being born before winter??

I would go for seeds from "stitch" I haven't heard anything but good things about his seeds. I'm doing my first auto grow and using kush van stitch, russian rocketfuel, and betty boo and they are going great with little effort. The best advice I can give you is use the kiss method(keep it simple stupid). That's what I'm doing and its going great. My grow- https://www.autoflower.org/f5/evols-first-auto-grow-12041.html

do you know if that mix pack was auto or photo period plants? and most places will suggest 20/4 light schedule might be the reason for slow growth some plants do great in 24/0 some not so much. i'm under the impression that plants need rest just like people we aren't 100% sure why but lack of sleep is a bad thing we can all agree on. good luck on first grow indoors. what kind of light are you using? lack of light will also result in slow growth

noted and I am going to decrease by half an hour a day down to 20 hours so as not to shock the poor little girl, this is my first time and so no matter what I am already thrilled to have made it this far the bulbs claim to be 23watt=150watts and I have 2 on as you can see from the picture but can increase to 4 bulbs if you think I should

I'm pretty sure you want at least 6000 lumens. I think (but check and make sure) the 2 bulbs you have should be close to that but a third bulb would be better and a fourth would be the best. Maybe put it directly over the plant and leave the others on the sides like they are. more light penetration means better branching.

In the past few days little growth so no new piccies till the weekend but I have some first time grower observations

1) When checking the temperature of a bulb dont forget after running for a few hours it gets much hotter - I did not realise and scorched a few plants luckily they survived but leaves were badly burnt

2) I found that filling soil to the top of the pot is not so good as you cannot add soil to support the stems of the troopers

3) Beware the warm bulb is much warmer than the cool bulbs literally so caution or again you will scorch leaves

4) Chrysanthemum extract in water is great for destroying bugs FAST from plant and soil

View attachment 130558 Here is a close up shot of the voluptuous little angel and as I moved in to snap her V at 27 days I could not resist taking a sniff and her musky aroma was heavenly, the packet of rolling papers standing beside her is to show you how short this girl is - she is developing short little pistil pairs in pairs up her stem

I mentioned earlier that there was a runt and the leaves were burnt and she looked like she would die well she has out grown little angel above who is 6 inches tall and now little miss runt is 15 inches tall that said little angel has much more layers and vegetation and her pistols are protruding more aggressively. They both come out of their grow room to the balcony for a holiday if the weather is good otherwise back to their grow corner.

This picture shows that apparently dead seedlings can spring to life again especially when AutoFlower members all over the world are praying for your plant. Both these plants came from Dinafem's Mix number 10 and although they make me nervous enough to roll a couple of extra spliffs for the road I am tickled pink, the smell and aroma of my little angel tickles me pink and warms me cockles. I have never had indoor success with non autos - that said I do not have time always to care for them and they must care for themselves so I would never grow hydro - already I am an Auto Convert the speed of going to flower and the ease is amazing - these baby girls are antagonizing me so badly as I wait for them to bud and their aroma is alluring me towards madness so I need to go roll some Buddha Bud to mellow me out :)

OK here are 2 dinafem autos after 36 days. 1 is tall and the other short but bushy, in the foreground are some of the seedlings from regular seeds - Autos are supposed to finish in around 60 days so I hear and looking at my plants at over the half way mark I do not hold much hope even though I am diligently praying to the Ganja Gods, I have learnt:

1) Be very careful with foliar feeding or you end up with agent orange
2) A growblog helps when you are paranoid that your plants have stopped growing as well as the regular troubleshooting

Family Shot with all the Girls - The 3 Dinafems are in the background and the hybrids in the foreground - there are only 4 hybrids left as I planted 10 and plucked the 6 weakest to throw in my salad
Compared to other growers here the growth is very slow as here the Dinafems are at 42 days old. When humans look young when really they are old it is not so bad. I am just warming up with my first autogrow and next time I will be more serious and buy seeds that I know the strain names etc. I am not even sure that my Dinafems are Autos coz they came in Dinafem mix number 10 and if there is a way of telling I would love to know.

I am already trying to learn what to buy for my next seeds and am looking for something that is easy and VERY FAST to GROW and gives a great hit - volume is of secondary importance to me so if anyone has a good recommendation it may appear in my next blog "My Second Grow......"
