New Grower dirt pot

I have already asked and got answers to my lighting question, thanks.
I am about to germinate another 7 seeds (dark devil autos) I have some dirt pots and some light mix biobizz is it better to plant straight into the pot and keep it dark and warm until the seed breaks ground and shows?
I always thought the paper towel method was Ok but some people think straight into the pot is best?

It's personal preference my friend... I prefer water cup 24hrs paper towel til I get a 1/8 inch tap root the planted in moist soil.. some go straight to soil and just wait... as long as your not transplanting seedlings a bunch of times the way you start isn't going to effect the growth as long as it germs and begins to grow...

The reason I prefer the water/paper towel is that if the seed is a dud I'm not watering a pot for days then digging around in it to see if it cracked. I prefer to see the tap emerge and begin to grow so I know she's good entering the pot... and yes I go straight to final pot after paper towel

thank you, i have 7 in a cup of water (organic scottish spring water!) i will transfer them to a paper towel tomorrow and when the tap root shows put them straight into soil. I am using biobizz light mix.
thanks to everybody for your help, i will post my progress as it happens.
