Indoor Distance with 400w HPS

I'm going to use a 400w HPS and growing 3 autoxtremes!

what should be the distance when they are seedlings, vegging and then in full flower ? someone please help??

I just tell the same:

I use 60-70cm in the for the seedlings, 40-50cm in veg, and closer as you can in the flo.
For me it works. Use cooltube it helps a lot to decrease the distance.
All you need to carefull with the seedlings. 400W can make heat.

Hey dude! well I've just been reading a lot and people are saying different things and I just want to see what people say lol! but I think I'm gunna go with you! I don't understand that chart :/

This chart is summarizes different size HPS ideal lighting distance.
In the vertical line it sad the distance (inch 1inch around 2.5 cm).
The horizontal show you how big your HPS (watt).
The chart show you the different light from different distance how many lumen touch your plants.
Example:
400W HPS from 10 inch (25 cm) gives you 22918 lumen. Thats ideal.
For growing you minimum need 5000 lumen. I think everyone agrees.
Of course this chart maybe dont tell you perfectly accurately, but it is the essence. The point is you need minimum 21 inch distance between the light and the plants. Closer is better, but watch out for the heat.
Many people use different distance, but for me this 30-50 cm always works.
