Indoor does temperature difference in different places effect plant metabolism?

So I have a scrog going atm and have a fan blowing upwards from underneath and because the air temp is low, maybe 15c but the hps light is hot, the temp difference underneath is very different from the temp at the top.

Does this matter? Because I think growth has slowed. Is the stem just to suck water up and the leaves just need to be at the right temp to metabolize light and nutes? Or does the whole plant have to be at the correct temp for light and nutes to be metabolized?

Thanks

I'm not a botinist, but the temps around the leaves are the most important. This is where photosynthisis takes place. Always keep your thermomiter towards the top of the plant for a correct reading.

i wouldnt have thought it would matter to much as leaves are heated up normally by the sun and the ground is usually cooler but im no botinist edr :P

If it realy low temps at the bottom but high at the top then try ajusting your air circulation Have another fan blowing down to circulate it a little more see how it goes

Root temp definitely matters. The plants roots will function more efficiently with a higher root temperature (25c) than a cool one (15c).

Thanks all for your replies. I have not got too much room left for additional fans but I'll see what I can do. I thought water and root temp would be better at a lower temp as cooler water holds more oxygen and is less likely that root rot would occur.
