Hello all!

This is my first post but longtime lurker.
Organic Fanatic here.
Not very experienced Cannabis grower but experienced grower.

I don't want to be trendy, don't want a quick fix either.

I have had limited success with Autos, got some new seeds and wanna ask a few questions first.

Not much info for this strain out there, supposed to get big and be tolerant of a lot. I'm guessing it could be a heavy feeder?

My mix starts with peat moss, Scoria, worm castings. Used to be a third each but probably 50/33/17 ish now.
For every 60l (2cuf) I add a cup of :
Neem
Kelp
MBP
Dolomite
Gypsum
Vrd\granite dust/azomite. Usually 3-4

Sometimes I add crustacean meal instead of dolomite, sometimes alfalfa meal, have used coconut meal and seabird guano in various mixes also.

Thats how they start, I top dress castings, mbp, kelp etc.
Make compost teas and make extensive use of Comfrey (S.O and Boking 14).
Have some soils that I mixed approaching a year old now. Grow lots of clovers, Daikin radishes, borage and have started urtica dioca nettles recently.
Shove heaps of good stuff through the worm farm.

It's all kind of started to tick over nicely on a few fronts recently.
Have got the comfey up to good supply now, worms get it and I have started a compost pile which I will supply now too.

I mixed and fed the soil for the comfrey, and now that will in turn feed the beautiful Cannabis plant. Have started teas but want Comfrey rich compost too. Hope to add the nettles soon also. Everything gets alfalfa\lucerne mulch.

It's been a lot of work, lot of reading. I should say thanks, Thank you all.

I guess I am asking if I should cater to this strain any differently. I'd like a good expression of the genetics.
I'm all ears.
I got new soil mixed, can do a brand new batch, I got batches of 60l that have had cover crops through them with borage composted on top. Worked soils with super vibrant multi plants living inside, some 3-4 cycles old. Mulch this as got to have the best microlife etc

I almost do so much experimenting that it seems to have taken a bit longer than I thought.

Maybe indoor veg then to outdoors.
Can do a few from seed outside.
South East Queensland Australia.

Cheers!

Well,it just so happens we have a resident Australian @hecno Expert for your outdoor garden questions mate.I might wanna look into some Kanja cake for a companion to that Neem. And maybe UP your EWC if your not going to add any Alfalfa.I would personally add several of the other thing you mentioned, like the Guano and Alfalfa ,Crab shell and so on.Might want to make a really nice Nitrogen, and heavy, Flower top coating to go with those AACT's for flower.that will help you cater a little better if they need a boost the soil isnt providing.I might up the Sweet/Dolomite Lime powder to around 1.5 Cups though.I am guessing the Scoria is smaller, similar to Pumice stone or large perlite even..? Just curious. Also,it might be a good idea to add a little more castings. No trendies here buddy.Good Job!!

Hi guys,

I read the hecno thread. Start to finish over a weekend.
What a body of work, that thread is incredibly.
He is a tad more tropical than me, I'm warm, he is hot and humid.

Ok, that's what I'm asking eyesonfire, awesome, so, hotter than I usually do.
Right, would you germ right into the mix in a peat buffer?

Hoping the comfrey flowering top dress will work nice.

Scoria is same as lava rock, it comes 7-10mm. I break up some of it. I have used other rocks but usually don't use perlite.

I usually innoculate these by soaking in go go juice which is a microbial liquid.

Increase liming agents for more Cal mag?

Thank you sanguine, really want to do the genetics justice.

Looks like a new mix on the cards, or at least use what I previously called hot.

Hard to find karanja cake here.

Stay at 1 cup including the guano or did u mean more of that?

G'day mate and welcome to AFN , Going by your photos things are looking great . Mr Eyes gave you some very good advice on the teas , I see you have used bat Guano . I use it in every soil mix , the one I use is Indonesian - P 12 - Cal 29 - Silica 10 - Now what I do is powder it with a coffee grinder and mix it in well into the soil , I am not sure if you get much silica in your mix . Another one is Salicylic acid , Now this stuff is great . I also agree with Eyes , up the amount of worm castings , Go as high as 20 % . Do you use molasses , I also use a lot of it , -- Microbe food -- With the strain you have , yes it is a heavy feeder , Now I do use organic nutrients [ bottle ] , we have some awesome Australian products to use . With a strain like Incredible Bulk to get the best out of her you will have to be on top of the feed available . Which brings in the teas, The best advice I can give you there is pester the hell out of Eyes on that .
Soil is one of my great loves , I spend a lot of time on soil and I believe curing time is important -- let the soil grow -- . I am not at the stage of stand alone but maybe one day when I have more time . -- Peat moss -- I am not a fan of it and don't use it . Here is a soil I am building at the moment , I use what is in season and available , After the big rains we had I gathered Rain Forest leaf litter , that is what is on top and I also have native worms in there doing there job . It will be around 4 months old if not older when I will be using it .

Here is another thing I do . grated aged cow manure .Mainly for worm and microbe food .

Hi Hecno,
Thanks for your reply.
My guano is
– Nitrogen 0.11%, Phosphorus 11.17%, Potassium 0.25%, Sulphur 0.12%, Calcium 34.79%. Silica 8.80%.

I have top dressed it lightly before to good effect on tomatoes. I have it in 1 soil mix that also ran a tomato and has been cover cropped.

I have a base mixed recently made that is going to serve as the auto soil.
I will amend it today with some extras. Guano being one.
Happy at 1cup per 60l?

I plan to start these in 8l rocket pots for ease of transplant down the line.

Yeah, the top dresses and teas the way to go, I just don't want to be chasing it with teas and topdress, I kinda want the soil to be able to sustain the plant right away. Can't have any time wasting delays due to low food available.

Copy that on the castings.
Yep, use black strap unsurphured.

With regards to the peat moss, I have Coco mixes also, not adverse to Coco at all. For me, I can get the Te-em spaghnum locally form$45 for a 220l compressed bale. And I jus hate flushing the cheaper Coco.

I am aware the arguments on both sides.

Love the grated cow poo! Thought it was a truffle on first glance!!
I'm only just starting on the poos, horse, roo, possum with some cow available to me. I had a bucket I was gathering poo in, then mulched tomato plant bio mass on it, have broke it up into the small compost area and has a layer of comfrey and borage and Lucerne on top.

I love what you do mate, and the way you do the up in the tropics.

That worm bin looks the goods, I have some outdoor bigger piles, one in particular I may need your help on in the future.

Love what you do guys, thank you for the help.

Yep, I would say I have a lot more work, I use some bottle stuff. I use aloe/fulvic/silica sometimes. I have used the nature's own range which I think has guano in it. I have some of the eco aminogrow that I have but haven't used yet.

I use rainwater with a pH of 5.5/5.6 (must recheck) EC is zero.

Yeah buddy.Roughly twice as hot as your normal mix.and for germing I would use either the tiering method,OR, just dig out as hole in the center enough for your whole fist to fit in and full that with a good seedling mix, coco coir or similar. thats always worked very very well for me. As for the Lime that will help keep PH stable as well as give added cal. and about 1 cup should be enough of the guano.I dont use it often at all but have used it.it can be a very hot item and swing PH some.but I would stay at 1 cup.add some to your top coating as well as lime and other materials.Dial it in for flower and a nice medium hit of Nitrogen. As a safeguard I might wanna look at the SNS 209 I believe it is.a natural systemic pest control. Kanja cake is excellent in tandom with neem.Neem alone is also good but just lacks a little is all.Always good to have a safe guard.

P.S. guessing that your normal mix is for regualr feeding plants in the region?Lighter feeders?canna can be aggressive sometimes.especially in Veg and mid flower.thats why I say go about twice as hot as you normally would.as long as its stable PH you'll have little problems and a nice harvest too.

Gotcha mate and thank you.

I upped the lime to 1.5 cups per 2cu f.

So the mix currently has;

Neem
Kelp
Mbp
1.5 for dolomite and gypsum

To this I intend to add a cup of;

Alfalfa (1 enough here?)
Sea bird guano
Coconut meal
Crustacean meal
4 cups of Azomite

Plan to soak seeds in water for a few hours, fill the pots and water in with compost tea. Plant shortly after.

And yes, I never have had an nitrogen toxicity problems, so could probably look at that anyway, thanks.

2CF soil

1.5 C Sweet/Dolomite Lime

1 C of gypsum

1 rounded cup of Neem cake

1.5 C kelp meal

1 - 1.5 C Alfalfa meal

1 C Guano(flower guano)

! C coconut meal

1.5 C crab shell or similar.

4 Cups of Azomite seems high but I would go with 2-3 but thats me.if 4 has worked in the past I would use that. Have any Oyster shell powder? no worries if not. I might look into Blood Meal or hoof n horn or similar. And maybe even a Bone meal or similar additive for flower. then we can work on simple tea recipes.
