Hey guys.. hoping someone can help me out with this.. I've been getting this issue with quite a few plants over the last while.

These are 2 big Buddah blue cheese autos. Day 34. Yesterday after feeding they dropped as tho overwatered but they definitely were dry and needing fed.. today same again.. fed 400ml AN sensi bloom with some other AN additives at around 7am.. 5 hours later dropping.. I use a moisture meter and also lift pots to feel weight and I'm sure there's are not over watered.. I started to wonder if this was normal but I don't see anyone elses plants do it so I assume not..

Dropping/clawing is worse around the bud sites. The lower leaves are still 'up'..

Any ideas?? Hate to see dropping plants as we all do.. driving me crackers!!

I get the same thing, and then it goes away. I think mine is heat and distress, mine do it when it's hot and a prune vigorously. Curious to see the official story.

I've just come in tonight and their dry again.. but really perky lol.. this does my head in.. so they got another 250ml each just to see how they react.. I don't water to run off ever just a set amount as and when they need it usually daily if I get things dialled in right.. these r in 16L fabric pots and were up to 500ml per day until I noticed this yesterday.. I noticed earlier when I tried to stick my finger in that the soil is thick with roots almost all the way to the edges of the pot.. maybe I should give them a good water through and see how it goes.. I hate this because even after 5 years growing it makes me question everything I'm doing!! It's like suddenly the don't like being watered!

I water through, your roots are packed at the top because there is probably not much water at the bottom. 20% of pot size in water seems to be about right with a small amount of run off.

Drooping does not mean that the leaves and plant are not doing the same amount of photosynthesis. If drooping is transitory, not permanent, goes away on its own if nothing done, etc. I'd just ignore it (but I may not be a good role model to follow). I am far from expert, but the plants look OK to me, with just a few very top buds affected. At least you are not seeing the cal-mag issues that are fairly common as the plants transition to blooming.

Otherwise, you need to tell us about your medium (don't even know if soil or hydro) and any preparation, such as flushing, you did; type of pots and their size; your nutes and feeding regimen; etc.

If you are seeing root getting too dense, maybe your pots are too small. If as you say you haven't done any drain-to-waste (after over a month, with salts concentrating faster in your smaller pots) you could also be accumulating salts (although salt concentration should be lower with more water). By my standards, your pots are small, so I don't at all see why doing drain-to-waste even very feeding would be a problem - just put a pan underneath and later dump the run-off.

Thanks guys.. plagron light mix straight out of the bag no flushing.. 16L fabric pots.. AN sensi bloom plus rhino skin voodoo juice carbolaod.. been watering daily upping amounts as they grow.. this is what I normally do.. is it possible that they just take a little dip when going into bloom?? At day 35 tomorrow is that just about proper bloom time?? They haven't dropped after that little feed earlier so that's a plus!!

Sorry Rollin.. just reading this again.. 20% of pot size would mean around 3.5L for my 16L pots.. and that should get me a small amount of run off??

So water them through with that and leave until they need fed again just checking day by day?? Is that sorta how you would feed??

:toke: rapid repeat dry-outs can cause some rehydration problems in the soil,.. do you have a wetting agent handy? If not, get some and use when watering/feeding,... sometimes the soil doesn't rehydrate evenly, even though they "heft" out seemingly OK,... the wetting agent will help take the surface tension out of the solution so will be repelled less from dry patches,... I get this in late season from root density as well,...

This has me thinking guys about my whole approach to watering! Another point maybe someone can chime in.. related to what Rollin said above that my roots may feel compacted at the top because this is where my water is going basically.. when you water do you water around the plant.. a distance out from it.. or straight down the middle so to speak.. like around the bottom of the plant??

Im thinking that 1.. I may not be watering enough in general.. and 2 the small amounts that I am watering are going round the top of my soil and not really penetrating low down in the soil to allow a good root structure to form low down and maybe that's why I haven't been getting any big plants??

So if you water to run off when do you start?? Surely I shouldn't water a plant to run off until it's a decent enough size to take all that water?? So what sort of amounts are you guys watering at say seedling.. 1 week.. 2 weeks etc and when do you start going to run off??

I read loads of journals and that's the one thing ppl seem to leave out.. how much they're watering and how often!! Can anyone link me to a thread or a good journal that shows how much how often??

As I read through this and the mind turns Im starting to think that I'm just not watering enough to let the roots fill my pots full stop. I have a massive overwatering fear so the thought of putting massive amounts of water in a pot makes me anxious lol strange but true.

Also.. my plants always turn out well and the smoke is always tasty and strong.. but my yields are not good and I feel that they have gone down gradually since I started growing rather than up.. problem is I never kept any records to go back to and say yea that was working then.

Your help is much appreciated guys. Thanks for taking the time to read and advise.
