I was wondering if anyone here grew their autos in a dwc reservoir system for veg, then transplant to a bigger bucket system for flower? If not, what's a better way to do it? I know autos don't like getting transplanted, so should I keep them in the same container the entire grow? Thanks for any help.

If the bigger bucket system is also hydro, just use it from the start.
Many experienced auto growers believe they can be transplanted, but that sounds like too much work.

I keep my autos in a single 5gal bucket dwc, sometimes ill veg out a photo or even an auto seedling in a smaller 2 gallon res with a spot for 3 net cups then transfer to iys own 5gal bucket but thats only when I'm pressed for space.

I have transplanted in DWC before. I have started in a 3 gallon bucket and during flower moved to a 5 gallon. The plants will get bigger in a 5 gallon because it gives the roots more room to grow, and more surface area to absorb water/nutrients. Just make sure you have the room in your grow space so the plants aren't cramped and empedding air circulation.

My DWC rez are 27 gallon totes, 2 of them... so I would never transplant to a bucket! The plants do not mind moving, as long as you don't bust up the roots. What would bother them is being shocked by temperature, pH change, or too hot PPM all of a sudden. I think they actually appreciate being pulled out into the air for while during transplant or water changes. I stop moving them if the roots are bigger than the hole they need to come out of.

rather than fart about with different resevoirs mate have a look into NFT. thats what i use. the roots grow nice and neatly in nothing but air and have a 20L over flow so never run out of room. easier to res change and you get an infinit oxygen supply without even using an aistone. your plants will veg longer too. havent seen a preflower before day 49.

that was my second grow, half kilo auto. got my mate one aswell and he pulled a 10 ouncer on his first go with the vaguest grow instructions i could think of.
what youve suggested will also work though. transplant as its going into flower and the roots should explode again. seen a couple folk do it with pretty awesome results. the whole transplant thing is a myth. all the biggest autos ive seen have been transplanted at least once. that one up there i transplanted twice.
