Thought I would share this with those interested. A Board Certified Doctor recently suggested to me that one sips water with Vitamin C added while smoking. He stated this would minimize or prevent coughing & protect the lining of the throat, the tongue & airways. It also serves as a powerful anti-oxidant. Powdered Vitamin C, either sold as plain ascorbic acid or calcium ascorbate should be used. The calcium ascorbate was highly recommended by the doctor because the calcium buffers the acid, unlike the straight ascorbate. Add to that the calcium is beneficial to the one's bones. Stir a half a teaspoon in a glass of cold water & sip while smoking. Whole Foods and most vitamin shops will have the product.
I must say, it works for me.
