Old Reviews Essentials pro ph meter

Hey guys purchased an essentials pro ph meter and have just afew general questions regarding ph meters that i hope you guys would share with me..

1. what liquid is in the soaker cap?
2. can any other liquid be used in this soaker cap ? as the original liquid that came in the soaker cap has been spilled.
3. its brand new ,after howlong should i calibrate?
4.they only sent me 7.0 calibration fluid is that fine ?

What is a soaker cap? Never heard that term in relation to pH meters.

Calibrate it before initial use, then at least monthly after that. Most meters are single point calibration so the 7.0 calibration solution should be all you need.

thanks muddy.. the soaker cap screws on to the piece that u stick into the water to test, apparently it keeps the probe moist.. and if left dry it will shorten the lifespan

Okay, it's the storage cap. They do make a special storage solution but you can use calibration solution in a pinch.
