Currently I run 4" Vortex 190cfm exhaust fan for my 4'x2'x5' tent and it does a good job I'll say that, but the thing has to run pretty hard, making it fairly loud and not descrete at all. I have a carbon filter in my tent, 4' of ducting, then my fan is actually mounted outside my tent on the closet wall where its pushing out the filtered air through ducting in the ceiling. I'm looking for an option that's SILENT or nearly silent that would keep my room cool. I know most fans are 6" and such but I've already ran ducting and all that for the 4" so maybe I can just get 6" fan and run a reducer to 4".

I use a Soler & Palau TD-100XS fan that's in their TD-Silent series. It's been really quiet for me. Little low hum vibration noise when I first put it in due to not being able to firmly crank down the mounting bolts on the drywall/plaster where I put it, but a little foam padding fixed that and the fan itself has run quiet for me ever since.

6" fan, speed controller and a 6-4" reducer.can you put the fan in the attick ?

The model I'm using is the TD-100XS. It's in a roughly 2'x5' closet that's I've converted to a grow space.

They make silencing mufflers for inline fans, quite pricey though...

Thanks for all the responses!!!

I'm going with the 6" fan and getting a reducer and I'll try that. I don't want to put it in the attic, when it's 90 out and the attic is 100+ I don't think the fan will last long being that hot.
