Hi I’m Ben. I am hoping you can lend me some expertassistance. This is my first large scale auto grow and I am having someperceived troubles or maybe suffering from paranoia. The plants are DP ThinkDifferent that were germinated on the 6[SUP]th[/SUP] of this month went in tothe dirt on the 8[SUP]th[/SUP] the basic’s and questions are as follows.
Pots jiffy
Soil Fox Farm light warrior
Lights 2.4 foot CFL with one plant and one shop light in each + one more shop light allat 2.5 to 3.5 from plants.
Water tapthat sits outside for 48 hours to burn off chlorine PH around 7 then lowered to6.5
Nutrients rapid start rooting enhancer usingone tablespoon per 5 gallon of water every water ph to 6.5
Questions
1. about 10% of the plants seem to have droopyleaves
2. shouldn’t they be larger at this point in life
3. few have white looking lines on leaves
4. the first true leaves are curling under andseemed to have not grown at all in 3 days
5. is this just the way these plants grow
6. should I start a low dose veg nutrient schedule
7. last question I promise at this rate of growth Theregoing to be 35 or more days old before I can put them outside I was thinkingthey grew much faster as my photos have just about out grown them?

Your pot size is restricting them. They need to be in larger pots.

What are your plans for nutes? Get them going ASAP.

You need more light. I don't understand what you actually have for light, but you need more. :-)

Your autos should be growing much faster than your autos. How often are you watering? In those small pots it
should be at least 2 X daily as they dry out very very fast.

Those shop light are not enough light for your plants . IMO. you need better lighting. Those plants should be way bigger if they are 30+ days old! ( DUH!!.... I just saw how small your pots are.......) cut those pots down the sides and transplant into 3-5 gallon pots.
Droopy leaves is caused by 2 things: Too much water, or not enough water. most new growers over water. let them dry out ans see. hopefully you don't have root rot.
No nutes until you fix the droop issue. You get them outside they should take off

Very hard to tell from the pic, maybe powdery mildew?

thanks for replying to my post for advice. For light I have 4 ,4 foot cfl lights I was using to start plants until they were big enough for outdoors. the jiffy pots I started them in are the larger ones about the size of a softball as for the pot size I was planning to transplant them into 5 gallon SMART pots with ff ocean forest soil but didn't think they were big enough yet I pulled 3 of the plants and they weren't even close to the bottom of the pot.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You pulled them? Out of the pot?

That is a huge problem. These guys do NOT like to played around with. If you have the pots, move them now and then don't touch them again! Autos are recommended to be started in their final pot. I had to transplant one last run and it got at least a week behind the others. On the other hand, Mitch from Mephisto transplants all of his once but uses a much larger starting pot.

About the lighting, you do mean you have 4 Single Bulbs in one fixture that is 4' long? Are they fluorescent shop lights and not Compact Fluorescents? I have not heard of a 4' CFL.

I see you are brand new. I would suggest you go into the beginners forums and do some reading. I don't mean to sound off putting, but it would be helpful for you to get some basic information. It is much easier to learn how to grow before growing than trying to learn on the job. Growing is not easy, until you do it a while. Don't worry, just read and learn and go slow. It's taken me 3 years to get a harvest that I am finally really happy with.

TGS-- ...Pop and Blessed' have made good calls,....

>> Light Warrior is seedling starter mix, with basically no nutrients in it,... as such, feeding should start within a week, at a diluted concentration...how much depends on the specific NPK #'s... yeah, they're small even for 2+ weeks old, because of the various reasons we're mentioning here.... :slaps: LOL! it's not a no-brainer, growing MJ, despite the cliche' sayings,... auto's are even tougher! learning curve can be steep, until you get some experience and the right products and hardware,... So, you plan to get them OD's in a couple weeks? be sure to ease them into the far more intense light, or they will roast to nothing in a very short time! You'll need something to cut the light down, with something like shade cloth, or layers of window screening, and gradually expose more light over several days,...

>>> lighting is weak,.. this is a question of intensity (wattage), not numbers of lights,... a bunch of low watt bulbs isn't a substitute for a single high watt intense bulb, of the proper light spectrum,... is that CFL a grow-type light? not sure what you mean by 2.4 foot CFL,.. a bulb length? I have this 300W unit, that's a total beast of a CFL- large round array, but length is about 15",...

>> the little starter pots aren't a good choice for auto's,... they tend to start a bit slow up top, but are working hard below! they like plenty of room for their tap root to dive into,... if it gets restricted, they may stunt out,...

>> it's not uncommon for young leaves to curl some, as they grow, they'll flatten out,....if that's what you meant by drooping,... which also can be caused by both shock, over and under-watering....

>> That discoloring on the leaf,.. could be nothing,.. seems common with seedlings under stress at times,... but it could pass as bug damage too (thrips)... I'd have a very close look, top and bottom, day and a night inspection too, just to be sure,... you can count on them, and other, when you go outside, so be warned and vigilant!

>> 5 gal smart pots will be overkill on these, as they likely have suffered some degree of stunting,... and to avoid potential nute burning, cut that OF soil in half with HF... Of can be a little hot for some auto's,...Also, we've been getting many reports of overly acidic pH's from FF soils, right out of the bag,... I'd for sure test your soil pH first, or you might go from the frying pan, right into the fire!

Yes its true LOL I killed 3 of them to see if they were at all root bound they were not even close to the bottom of the pot They were figured into my loss ratio anyways. I'm aware autos should in theory be started in the final pot however its not easy to do so with 50 or more 5 gallon smart pots. room and lighting wise. the lights are 2 per fixture and there 4 feet long so there are 5 4 ft long bulbs total. In the past with photos I have had no trouble starting from seed until putting the girls outside with these lights. Attached are pictures of the light and the plants I'm calling thinking are sick. I am new to this form because 1... I have no experience with autos however I have grown many many photo plants with good results over the course of many years . 2 no offense but I generally find it unwise to post anything on the net that has to do with this. The reason I'm doing it now is I'm really in a pinch with this group of autos

I was using that general hydro rapid start diluted a bit posted a pict of it do you suggest to use a diluted veg fert or do you think I should just get rid of these and start over. As for the pots and the soil I am going use them as I already have them the runoff on my pallet of FF seemed fine and have personally never had an issue with it . that being said I never tried to start seeds in It either. Thanks very much for looking at my post

What is your temperature?

I would:

1. Get them in larger pots.
2. Get them more light.
3. Feed them with the veg nutrient ASAP.

You don't need to give up on them, they can still come back but will yield less than normal. But with that many plants you should still have a nice harvest. It really depends on what your end game is - personal use and pleasure or commercial.

For many of us, there is no worry to post as we live in states where we can grow legally.

Good luck!

the temp is the crazy thing it's not been lower then say 50 as high as 65 on the nice days I have been putting them out for a hour or two in the sun.the weather around here is so screwy this time of year 2 days ago it was 74 last night it was 35 the girls are in a barn with a small heater but the temper temperature fluctuations are less than ideal. I'm going to do what you said first thing in the morning. the only lights I have other than the ones I'm using however 1000 watt HPS's.
