New Grower FIRST DWC Grow

@Frogin You will have a hell of a time trying to control the PH and nutrient level in such a small reservoir. After the roots get big you will have less than a gallon of space in the container. Even a 5 gallon bucket requires attention several times a day as the roots will drop the volume to less than 3 gallons.

Darn tootin'. Did that to me last week in fact. @Frogin can you upgrade the res to larger?

If it gets to that point I'll put a resivor under it and add spray nozzles. I grow some pretty big tamatoe plants in the same bucket I understand about ph as water level drops as well as ppm. Make me mad ill get me a 20 gallon trash can hahaaaa. We will see its all good I know I'll be checking it both morning and night when she gets bigger.

Well got it rolling pretty good roots where finally out of Rockwool so I started first run. Ppm came out at 198 and the ph is at 5.9. She seems to have liked it, and took off out the pot started messaging the stem to let it get a little thicker works well with my soil grows on both canabis and peppers so should work a little better here as well. If I need to ima set a Second resivor and add spray nozzle system in bucket. I use this method for both peppers and tamatoes and a drip for our beans and lettuce. We will see this is a am I gonna like it better than spray that takes longer to clean between changes. Thanks for hearing the rant and taking the time to follow.

Hey Frogin, pulling up a seat to watch. I enjoyed my first attempt at DWC last grow and decided to run rdwc on my current grow.

I have to agree with MoG on it being a pain to control when the plant gets big. I was adding a gallon of water 2-3 times a day and the ph would dive into the 4s in just a few hours. I'm running two plants this grow with a 20 gallon res and a 5 gallon top off tank. It's much better this round but still lots of work.

That said, I pulled over a pound off that last plant so it can be done. Wishing you the best of luck and good vibes!

:goodluck:

She is starting to get another set of leaves. Her tap is about 9 inches long so pretty deep on 3gal. Still massaging the stem to make it thicker and will carry more. Water is still good at 5.8 so I been dillagent about checking until I see what the average is for this grow seriously thinking of spraying and using return resivor but tent space is at a premium.
