Hi guys,

Thanks so much for all the great knowledge sharing here. It has already helped get me started on our medical grow. So I thought I'd post its current state and open it up to you guys as I have and will have some questions.

First some details.

The room is 8x6x6 in the basement. It's August so it has still been very warm. I'm using brooder lamps with splitters armed with 30 CFL's total. I began with 15x 42w 6500k's and 15x 42w 2700k's. But even with a 6" exhaust I've had trouble keeping temps out of the upper 80's and low 90's when the door is closed. The ladies are beginning to fill the air with sweetness so the door will need to be closed for the carbon filter soon. Thus I've temporarily swapped all the reds for 23w blue side lights two days ago. Now temps are maxing out at 85 in the afternoon and the plants are vegging in all blues with the door closed. With September drawing near ambient temps should begin to drop as flowering begins and I should be able to bring the 42w reds back in, I think. They were kept on 24 hour lights up until this week and are now on 20/4, with lights out during peak day time temperatures.

For soil I decided to mix approximately 40% Ocean Forest, 35% Happy Frog and 15% Pro Mix BX all in 3 gallon pots. I also topped it off with about 3 inches of straight Pro Mix BX into which I planted ten seeds (8 strains) after soaking for about 16 hours. They all popped almost simultaneously two days later. In retrospect I wish I'd known how much the soil would compact with watering over time but I've learned for the next one.

Today the girls are all 21 days old and I'm trying to decide when to start fertilizing with my Go Box nutes given that they were planted in pretty rich soil. I welcome any input!

So you'd probably like some pics.

(3) Sweet Seeds Red Poison's (all from the same pack. I'm keeping a close eye on the second one and would like to know your thoughts):

23 Days

I tested a 1/4 GO yesterday on a Poison and she's doing fine so I'm going to start the rest on 1/4 to 1/2 feed tomorrow morning before lights out. I just don't know how long it takes to use up the goods in the Fox Farm soils.

Lots of pistils on the Critical's and some on the big Poison (23 inches today). Crazy how different these plants can be all started on the same day, same conditions.

And here they come.

The mid-size Red Poison is sporting some early purple bud in the first photo. The tallest one in the fifth photo is another Red Poison. She measured 30 inches today while the third and last Poison is only about 16 but bushy as hell.

They've had two GO feeds and seem to be pretty healthy to my rookie eyes. Development rates across the different strains and pheno's are all over the place. But it's manageable so far. It's a labor of love after all, isn't it?
