First time growing sour stomper, just doing 1 this round to see what I can do in a 3x3 with a mars ts1000. Tired of trying to rotate plants all the time under this small ass light. Looking at upgrading soon to the 300w bar style. But for now just wanted some advice from people who have grown this cultivar. Top? Lst? I do have a trellis but not sure when and if to even use it. Still new so please, teach me ! She is 4 days tomorrow. Running her on 24/0 in FFOF, 3 gal, and will be using Bonnie and Clyde as needed. Just misting with ph tap water right now and have a dome over it (not pictured)

Nice looking little girl and I have finished a Sour Stomper at my uncle's place this winter and he "grew" it but technically I was there everyday LoL but seriously it's the best smoke since growing Auto's and I don't have much experience with them yet. I only did lst and it's a slow starter but once it hit it's stride in flower it just kept stacking and the frosty covered plant was difficult to take pictures of LoL but here's a few pictures of her ! Also I have never topped a plant before, not even a photo very new and not a lot of experience with training Auto's other than LST and leaf tucking Happy Growing ... here's some pics of the 2 I helped my uncle with and they were very slow in starting flower is all I really have in my notes but he was able to get a couple ounces off the one and just an ounce off of the other one and they were in 3 gallon pots sorry I don't have more info but I look forward to watching this SS grow!

Probably would've been more yield of they weren't in a grow tent with a bunch of other plants and I will say that it's possible to be able to get more aggressive with training if they are all predominantly slow to flower. Just don't know enough to tell you for sure hope it helps to see what they were like in flower

Hell yeah thank you! I think I'm going to top this one and use the trellis. It'll be my first time using a trellis so we will see how that goes. Really want to aim for an even canopy this round. It's an art on its own. Really appreciate the pics and the info on kinda what to expect. I have never grown photos, I started with autos last 4/20 and really love it. I will try them eventually but I'm having so much fun learning from autos!

Yeah now that I understand the process after 1 year of good and bad results, I'm ready to start really seeing what myself and these things can do, first step is getting a light to fill out this tent. Ts1000 awesome beginner light but I can't max out this tent with it. 4/20 sales are coming up w00t!

The only training I really did in my SS grows was topping above the 4th or 5th node. That causes the side branches to fatten up with colas.

Do you think a trellis is even necessary for this 1 plant or am I better off just topping and tie downs to keep it even?

I trellised mine just to keep the branches from growing too close to each other. The branches themselves were surprisingly strong and never bowed. I didn't add any silica either.

My anxiety is high enough that I do whatever it takes to not worry about my medicine. That means I'd rather have the trellis in place and not need it than to worry later on about messing with the roots poking the trellis into the dirt. YMMV.
