Vaping some dry-ass Anti-Dank prescription weed... not a terpene in scent!
Quick question for anyone: just about to fill up and acclimatise EcoLife Soil in my fabric Autopot (trade name =Flexipots).

putting clay pebbles in the bottom of the pots. .
Did you wash the clay pebbles before you use them? I know they say to wash them for hydroponics, but not sure if that matters for soil. What do you think? Cheers

Why clay pebbles? They provide no benefit other than take up space and cause stratification in the pot.

Yes you must wash them well first. Be sure you are using the PH balanced product the cheap ones are not PH neutral and will cause you PH grief throughout the entire grow.

1. The Autopot leaflet indicated to pop some down the bottom of the airport. I’ve decided against it now

2. I’ve now got a 10 kg bag of pH balanced clay pebbles… Going to see if I can send them back.

If you want to put anything extra in the bottom, put extra perlite in the bottom inch or so of your soil. Doing this will help make sure that the depth of the soil flooded by the autovalve drains and aerates well. Extra perlite will not interfere with wicking of your irrigation liquid, whereas a layer of hydroton or other coarse stuff could.

You should have a balanced nute package ready for later if your girls run out of nutes later in the grow. The standard Autopot fabric pots might not be large enough for water only through the whole grow, depends on the soil mix, the strain, etc.

Good luck with the grow, your setup should grow some nice weed. :pighug:

How did it end up with no hydrostones on the bottom?
I spoke with Jason (inventor of auto-parts) and he said no hydro stones. I told him he needs to correct his leaflet, and he took that on board. Plants turned out lovely.

Just about to harvest and cure.

Autopots said no stones? Straight Soil is good?
