Hi all, I am interested in growing autoflower seeds, although i want to make sure i have all full knowledge before I start. A few things I don't know is what is a good soil, what nutrients should I use, is there a specific germination process i should follow.
I am thinking of ordering seeds of SR AK-47 Autos, I will be growing outdoors in pots around the bottom of australia, when will be the best time to start? (i am a noob)

Hey Snuglez, welcome to AFN bro. There is a ton of info on here. Look though some grow journals and most everyone lists their products that they use. Pick one that you like and build off of it. There is no hard and fast rule to growing other than reading.

Welcome

Hi Snuglez

Welcome to AFN! ^_^
Why not pop up a "hello" over at the introductions section for a nice warm welcome from our members,

In the meantime, i'll try and help out with your questions.

I'm not sure what soils you have available to you, but plagaron and biobizz are both popular choices among indoor growers. If you have those commercially available soils in a local grow shop, try and get the "light mix" versions. Try to avoid soils with time release fertilizers - while they sound like a good idea, they take control away from you and can burn seedlings.

Germination of canna is a pretty easy process. The easiest way I've found and use is to fill a pot with some nice light soil, water it with PH adjusted water - leave for a few hours to dry a little, poke 1cm hole in the middle (with a pencil) and drop your seed in there. Spinkle some soil lightly over the top. Spray it finely, pop a humidity dome (top third of a coke bottle) over the top. Turn the lights on and leave it for 4-5 days.
Ideal temp for germination is somewhere between 75-82 Fahrenheit

Hope this helps a little

Edit: just realized you said outdoor grower - the info is still good, but i've never germinated seeds outdoors so not sure

All the best
Blue ^_^
