A few years ago I worked 355 days a year (two jobs). Only 10 days off per year. The money was good but the life sucked.
Is this your busy time of the year? Will it slack off after a while?
The good thing about weed is that it seems to do well without a lot of babysitting.

About the grasshoppers,
"One of our favorite pest control experts, Dr. Linda Gilkeson, says that spun polyester (and other types of) row covers are very effective. Hang these diaphanous blankets over the plants you need to protect as soon as you see the first hopper; the fabric lets light, air and water through, but keeps pests out. That 'first hopper' part is important here; preventing damage early is key to this strategy's success. As with Japanese beetles, plants damaged by feeding attractmany more hoppers, creating a cascading cycle that ends with a garroted garden.

Linda adds that there are even black row covers that provide an almost invisible guard for your pretty ornamental plants. But they're not your traditional fabric covers, she explains. "They're black plastic with a quarter-inch mesh that's sold for use as bird netting. You really can't see the covers," she assures us, "but it keeps pests like grasshoppers away just fine."
Make sure you get the 1/4 inch netting to keep the big grasshoppers out.
