General organics question

Thanks Andy i didnt plan on ever using the cal-mag by itself i wanted to just add it with the Bio Grow and Bio Bloom and not have to ph my feeds if thats possible...so if dont want to PH it im better off getting some spring water or something which still has some minerals in it? :Sharing One:

Check out the discussion on this page and you'll get lots of good info on GO: http://www.generalhydroponics.com/blog/2009/07/15/the-general-organics-feed-chart/

People reference a blog post elsewhere by GO that states the nutrient line was developed for use with dechlorninated tap water. That's what I use myself since mine is pretty decent with an EC of around .3. Several people on the blog had issues with the plants when using RO water due to the nutes driving the pH so low that if could not be buffered up into range. I would think that distilled would potentially have the same issues but I have no first hand experience with that or RO and the GO Box.

heres what someone from GO said over email. just in case anyone is interested.

"Hello,

If you are using RO or distilled water, the pH should be raised to 8.0 or above before mixing the General Organics. If you are using tap water, it is not necessary because there are already minerals present which will buffer the solution."

May give the GO box a try using Spring water ive been emailing General Hydroponics about using distilled, spring, and tap water with the GO box.

he says...
"You don’t need to adjust anything with the spring water. Just mix according to the directions. The buffering takes place in both the soil and the nutrient solution. The minerals in the water are burring agents and the bacteria and fungi in the soil are also buffering agents. “Buffering” refers to the stability of the pH. If there is no buffering capacity, the pH will swing up or down depending on environmental conditions."

just thought id post incase anyone was wondering about using different types of water with general organics
