So I made a couple of fem crosses using mephisto genetics. I reversed a double grape and managed to save a good amount of pollen. Roughly 3 weeks later I used it to pollinate a freebie seed (nch x sb) that was clearly a northern cheese haze pheno. The seeds produced were dark and small, have a high germ rate (10/10) and within 2 days in paper towel method.
About 10 days after pollinating the first plant (there was a 10 day difference in age) I did it to a sour bubbly pheno which is absolute fire. It produced a lot of unripe seeds even though it still produced a lot of normal seeds too. The seeds are at least twice the size of the other phenos seeds and germ rate is lower and also a lot slower. They take about 4 days to crack open and only get about 8/10.
Is this just due to genetics? A matter of the size of the seeds? Are larger seeds normal or mutation? I've never seen seeds this size personally.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
