Hi everybody! I am planning to make my own mix for this outdoor season. I am not a hydro grower so i don´t know anything about electrical conductivity and stuff like that. But i have lately been interested in mixing my peat based organic soil with some coco. I have 20 liters (5 gallons) of peat based potting soil as my base. Then i want to mix it withvermiculite/perlite, coco and composted horsemanure becouse the coco don´t have any nute value. I will use the coco fiber to kind of "fill out", so the roots get moore space to grow. I don´t think that there is any "hocus pocus" to the coco, but i just want to be sure before i ruin my flowers.
Also i will soon start the construction of my very first swamp tubes, and i probably will go with the same mix there too. I have heard that coco does wonders outdoors, but if there is something i should look out for, let me know.
Is there anything that i should think of or know when i grow with coco outdoors, or coco in swamp tubes?
Ruffly how much of each should i take? The coco bricks are 10 liters (2½ gallons).
I was thinking that maybe:
20L Soil.
5L Coco.
2,5L Perlite.
2,5L Vermiculite.
1,5-2L Manure.
Total liters: 32L
Help me out please. I am very thankful for any help i can get. Now i have to run to my bus. Bye!
