New Grower Grow tent air circulation

what up afn, just a quick question, im putting my shopping list together for my first grow, im planning to get a 48x48x79 grow tent with a 600 hps light, should i get a fan for air intake on top of the fan ill be using for odor and the wall fan ill have in the tent? :joint::joint:

Not enough info to know. Is your light air cooled? What size extraction fan/filter do you have? If you can regulate temps with the setup you have then there's no point in having an intake fan. Make sure if you do get one that it doesn't push so much air in that it causes positive pressure in the tent. You always want the extraction fan to be sucking out more than is blowing in for odor control.

i plan to get an air cooled fixture and im planning to get a 4" inline fan and filter, good call on the positive pressure tho, that might have been something i would have messed up...

With a 600w in a 4x4 I would be looking at a 6" fan instead of a 4". You might be able to pull it off with the 4", but it'll be a struggle. With the 6" you can always slap a $20 voltage regulator on it and slow it down to the speed you need. Sometimes a larger fan slowed down like that is actually quieter than a smaller one on full blast, your carbon filter might last longer as well. Make sure when you get your carbon filter you're matching up the cubic feet a minute it's rated for with how many CFM your fan is pulling. They need more than the same size collar to match up. One six inch fan will cost less than buying two for intake and extraction as well. When you get the filter make sure to get a brand with a good reputation so it doesn't crap out half way through your first grow, nothing worse than having an odor emergency in flower! Good brands are CAN, Phresh and mountain air.

welcome buddy, are your tent dimensions in cms? if so a 600w light maybe too much even with cooling? apologies if i've got your dimensions wrong, i've got a DR60 II which is 60x60x160, and was advised a 250w or 400w at a push would be the best light size for that space with regards to heat issues.
